Job Summary

We are seeking a Regional Sales Engineer / Business Development Engineer to develop and expand the companys business across the South American market with a particular focus on port machinery heavy equipment and related engineering equipment.

The successful candidate will be responsible for achieving regional sales targets developing customer and distribution channels building long-term relationships with port and terminal stakeholders and providing market intelligence to support the companys commercial strategy.

This role is well suited to a commercially driven professional with strong experience in port machinery heavy equipment or engineering equipment sales combined with established knowledge and networks within the South American market.

Develop and execute sales plans for assigned South American markets.

Break down regional sales targets into actionable plans and drive their achievement.

Identify new business opportunities and develop potential customers across the region.

Manage the full sales cycle from initial customer development and technical discussions through to negotiation and contract closing.

Establish and continuously develop the companys regional sales and distribution network.

Identify and develop potential distributors agents dealers and strategic business partners.

Conduct customer meetings commercial negotiations presentations and follow-up activities.

Build and maintain long-term relationships with key customers and industry stakeholders.

Provide ongoing customer support and coordinate internal resources to address customer requirements.

Develop and maintain relationships with ports terminals port operators logistics companies and other relevant industry stakeholders across South America.

Develop a strong understanding of local port machinery demand investment plans projects and procurement practices.

Identify upcoming port infrastructure and equipment projects and convert market opportunities into sales leads.

Collect and analyze information on regional market trends customer demand industry developments and competitors.

Monitor competitor products pricing market positioning distribution strategies and commercial activities.

Prepare regular market intelligence and competitive analysis reports.

Provide recommendations to management regarding market opportunities customer requirements and regional business strategy.

Work closely with technical engineering product and commercial teams to develop appropriate solutions for customers.

Support technical and commercial discussions with customers where required.

Provide market feedback to support product development and localization strategies.


Requirements

Bachelors degree or above in Engineering Business Marketing or a related field.

At least 3 years of relevant experience in port machinery heavy equipment engineering equipment or related industries.

Proven experience in regional sales business development or channel development is preferred.

Candidates with direct experience in port machinery or terminal equipment sales will be strongly preferred.

Experience working with heavy machinery industrial equipment or engineering solutions in international markets is highly desirable.

Good understanding of port machinery terminal equipment heavy machinery or engineering equipment.

Familiarity with the basic operating principles and technical characteristics of mechanical equipment.

Existing relationships or market knowledge within South American ports terminals distributors contractors or equipment buyers would be a strong advantage.

Strong business development negotiation presentation and communication skills.

Proven ability to identify new opportunities develop customer relationships and convert leads into business.

Strong market research competitive analysis and commercial planning capabilities.

Self-motivated results-oriented and comfortable working independently in a regional role.

Willingness to undertake frequent international travel within South America.

Fluent English is required.

Spanish or Portuguese is required.

Candidates fluent in both Spanish and Portuguese will be highly advantageous.
