BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF THE OFFICE
WFP first entered China in 1979. Now we carry out innovative pilot projects to improve smallholder farmers livelihoods and preschool childrens nutrition status build inclusive and resilience of food system raise funds to help people in need and share Chinas development experience with other developing countries to achieve Sustainable Development Goal 2: Zero Hun-ger.
Working towards a world with Zero Hunger the WFP China Private Partnerships and Fundraising Section is strategically expanding its engagement to unlock the potential of the Hong Kong market. Our mission is to build a diverse funding portfolio by mobilizing support from both individual giving and the private sector (corporations foundations and government entities). In Hong Kong we are focused on exploring and establishing high-impact partnerships and developing innovative fundraising initiatives to generate essential resources technical expertise and visibility for WFPs life-saving operations globally.
DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES (CORPORATE PARTERSHIP POSITION)
Under the primary supervision of the Chief of Private Partnerships the Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
1. Conduct research on potential corporate and government partners in Hong Kong including mapping key stakeholders and decision-makers.
2. Support the development of partnership proposals and concept notes tailored to Hong Kong-based corporations and government entities.
3. Assist in organizing meetings events and engagements with potential partners in Hong Kong.
4. Monitor and analyze Hong Kongs policy environment and CSR trends relevant to WFPs mission.
5. Prepare briefing notes presentations and reports for internal and external stakeholders.
6. Facilitate communication between WFP China and Hong Kong-based partners ensuring smooth information flow and follow-up.
7. Support the implementation of partnership activities and visibility events in Hong Kong.
8. Perform other duties as required.
DUTY AND RESPONSIBILITIES (INDIVIDUAL GIVING POSITION)
Under the primary supervision of the Chief of Private Partnerships the Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:
comprehensive research on the Hong Kong individual giving market including donor behavior trends and potential fundraising channels.
the development of WFPs positioning strategy for the Hong Kong individual giving market through market and competitors analysis.
the development and implementation of individual giving campaigns targeting Hong Kong donors including digital fundraising initiatives.
in the creation of fundraising materials (e.g. donation pages social media content email campaigns) tailored for the Hong Kong audience.
and report on campaign performance providing insights and recommendations for optimization.
the maintenance and updating of donor databases and other relevant data.
other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
Education: At least three years of university education in Social Sciences Marketing Business Administration Public Administration Public Policy or another field relevant to public-private partnerships.
Skills and Competencies: Proficiency at Microsoft Office (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook) required for work; Ability to work in multi-cultural environment; Ability to meet deadlines; Compliance with the rules and regulations of the organisation and the team. Ability to use photo and video editing software is a merit.
Language: Excellent communication skills (written and oral) in English and Chinese. Other UN official working language is a merit.
