Press Officer

Mission

As a PR Officer this role will support the planning and execution of Michelins corporate communication activities in China with a strong focus on media relations messaging development and public opinion management.
This role will work closely with internal stakeholders and external media to promote and protect the companys reputation while contributing to the visibility of Michelins values business topics and innovation efforts.
This role requires both strategic thinking and strong hands-on execution as well as an ability to navigate media dynamics and ensure message consistency across channels.

KEY EXPECTED ACHIEVEMENTS:

1. Strategy & Communication Planning
Contribute to the localization and implementation of Michelins corporate PR strategy.
Support content development and communication planning around corporate initiatives product topics ESG/sustainability and thought leadership.
Coordinate messaging alignment and execution with relevant internal stakeholders.
2. Media Relations
Build and maintain positive relationships with key media contacts especially within business and financial news industry vertical media.
Handle daily media inquiries interviews press kits and proactive outreach.
Assist in coordinating interviews press events and media engagement campaigns.
3. Issue & Crisis Communication
Assist in managing media-sensitive issues by preparing reactive messaging briefing documents and Q&As.
Participate in crisis communication routines and support real-time response under the direction of senior team members.
Help monitor and evaluate media risks and recommend response approaches.
4. Content Creation & Storytelling
Possesses strong bilingual writing and editing excellence in both Chinese and English with the ability to lead and ensure the quality of key communication materials such as press releases executive speeches Q&As and other PR materials.
Capable of developing engaging and creative content adjusting storytelling approaches according to different platforms and target audiences to maximize communication impact.

5. Public Opinion Monitoring & Insights
Monitor media coverage and social sentiment related to Michelin and key industry topics.
Prepare regular reports and highlight potential risks or trends that may impact the companys reputation.
Collaborate with internal teams to integrate insights into communication planning.

Requirements
Bachelors degree in Communications Journalism Public Relations or related fields.
3-5 years of experience in corporate communications PR agency or media.
Excellent writing skills in both English and Chinese; capable of drafting high-quality press releases Q&As speeches talking points and statements.
Familiarity with Chinese media landscape and basic understanding of social media platforms (WeChat Weibo Red).
Experience working with journalists and organizing media-facing activities.
Familiar with crisis response workflows and able to work under pressure during media-sensitive situations.
Proactive collaborative and able to work across functions and levels.
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple projects in parallel.
