Job Summary
As Planning Manager Chinayou are part of a global operations team and will play a key role in leading the team to deliver a cost effective and maintain an agreed service level supply & inventory solutions in China.
About You
Were looking to recruit a Planning Manager in China reporting to the Supply Chain Director based in Shanghai.
This is a varied role for a person who has a strong sense of urgency and able to solve issues with speed and efficiency. You should also have excellent communication and influencing skills to work in partnership with various stakeholders within the business as well as external service providers.

What Youll Be Doing
The Planning Manager leads a team of Planners drive supply chain optimisation through effective demand forecasting inventory management and resource utilisation.
This role requires strategic planning and analytical skills to optimise supply chain efficiency and execute planning activities effectively to ensure seamless operations.
- Lead a team of Planners in developing inventory plans and production schedules to meet operational goals and optimise supply chain performance.
- Assist in executing supply chain planning approaches that balance cost service levels and inventory efficiency setting a standard of excellence within the team.
- Oversee supply planning and production scheduling for China collaborating with teams in Operations & Engineering Supply Chain and Sales & Marketing to ensure optimal inventory levels timely delivery of goods and effective resource allocation.
- Monitor and analyse planning performance metrics driving continuous improvement in forecast accuracy and supply chain efficiency by working closely with other Supply Chain functions to ensure end-to-end supply chain coordination and responsiveness.
- Manage planning-related budgets and resources to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Ensure planning processes adhere to regulatory standards and company policies working with Legal Compliance & Audit as necessary to ensure governance.
- Mentor and support the development of team members fostering a high-performance culture and supporting professional development within the team
Environment Health & Safety (EHS)
- Perform maintain and improve the EHS standard and requirements as set by the Company.
- Participate in the companys EHS program including training audit etc. arranged by the company
Location
This role is assigned to operate in Shanghai Xuhui district
What Youll have
- A Degree in Business Administration engineering supply chain or related discipline
- Minimum 10 years of experience in handling supply planning & inventory management.
- Experience in leading a team
- Experience in handling end-to-end supply planning including raw materials finished goods and inventory management
- Experience with APO & SAP systems
- Experience in working with 3PL service providers is an added advantage
- Good analytical skills
- Be curious and have the courage to challenge the status quo for process improvement
- Able to work in a fast-paced environment and under a tight deadline
- Good Excel skills able to generate reports using Excel Power BI etc.
- Ability to follow through to meet deadlines and in a fast-paced working environment
- Fluent in English and Chinese
