- Lead vendor identification capability assessment commercial negotiation and selection; benchmark competing vendors on methodology coverage service and price.
- Drive the end-to-end contracting process - RFP drafting bidding MSA renewal PO issuance and payment milestones - to ensure uninterrupted data supply with no service gaps.
- Manage vendor performance against agreed scope timeline and quality standards; escalate and resolve delivery issues.
- Act as the single point of contact between external data vendors and internal functions; align Procurement Legal Compliance on contracting data usage rights budget and payment.
- Partner with FFE BP and franchise teams to uncover the real business question behind each data request challenge low-value asks and translate validated needs into clear data specifications.
- Explain data methodology and its limitations in business language so that stakeholders understand what the data can and cannot support.
- Build consensus across franchises on shared data investments to avoid duplicated spend and conflicting metric definitions.
- Anticipate where the business is heading and shape the external data agenda accordingly rather than responding request by request.
- Validate and calibrate external data against internal sales and market knowledge; define and defend the metric definitions used across the organization.
- Translate external data into actionable insight on market potential competitive dynamics and city- and hospital-level opportunity informing targeting resource deployment and investment decisions.
- Drive adoption by embedding external data into recurring business routines and decision forums rather than delivering one-off reports; lead cross-franchise data projects from concept through business rollout.
- Bachelors degree or above; a background in Business Economics Statistics Life Sciences or a related discipline is preferred. MBA is a plus.
- 8 years of experience in pharmaceutical commercial analytics market research business development or external data management gained in a leading MNC pharmaceutical company a top-tier consulting firm or a healthcare data provider.
- Proven track record of managing external vendors end to end from sourcing and negotiation through contracting and delivery.
- Strategic thinking: able to look beyond the immediate data request to the underlying business question and to shape the external data agenda around where the business is heading.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills: able to hold a firm line with external vendors while aligning internal functions that have competing priorities and no direct reporting line.
- Strong analytical skills: able to interrogate and validate external datasets judge the credibility of a vendors methodology and structure findings into a clear commercial story.
- Solid business acumen: good understanding of the China pharmaceutical market and hospital ecosystem; familiarity with market audit data such as IQVIA/CHPA city audit and hospital-level flow data including their methodological limitations.
- Strong presentation and communication skills with the ability to influence senior stakeholders.
- Strong project management skills; able to run multiple vendor projects in parallel against budget and timeline.
- Proficient written and spoken English.
- Openness to AI and digital productivity tools as an enabler of efficiency is a plus.
