Korean Localization Games Test Lead – Shanghai (Freelance)

With over 1000 well-known global games developers and publishers as our clients we are looking for Game Localization QA Test Lead (Simplified Chinese into Korean) with native language skills in Korean to join us to provide client support on test problems in a dynamic and exciting environment. You will be testing the next big hit game from small independent development teams all the way to AAA game titles from industry heavyweights!

The LQA Test Lead is responsible for leading localization testing activities to ensure high-quality culturally appropriate and immersive player experiences across multiple languages and platforms. This role manages LQA resources drives testing execution oversees defect management and collaborates with cross-functional teams to support successful game releases.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of LQA testers across multiple languages.

• Plan coordinate and execute localization testing activities throughout the development lifecycle.

• Validate localized in-game text UI subtitles audio and player-facing content for linguistic accuracy and contextual relevance.

• Identify document prioritize and track localization defects to resolution.

• Collaborate with QA Development Production and Localization teams to ensure quality standards are met.

• Monitor project progress risks and quality metrics providing regular status updates to stakeholders.

• Develop and maintain LQA processes test documentation and best practices.

• Support release readiness post-release validation and continuous improvement initiatives.

Important information:

• This position is on a freelance contract.

• As a mandatory requirement you must have the right to work in Shanghai. You will be required to provide supporting documentation.

• This is an onsite position. You are required to work onsite during core business hours (Mon Fri 8 hours per day) at our office in Shanghai. So you shall be based in the Shanghai area or you are within commuting distance to our office.

• Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with AAA mobile or live-service games.

  • Knowledge of console PC and mobile gaming platforms.

  • Familiarity with localization tools CAT tools and translation management systems.

• 3 years of experience in Localization QA Linguistic QA or Game QA.

• 1 years of experience leading QA or localization testing teams.

• Native level (or near-native)of Korean (testing language) including excellent spelling and grammar.

• Good command of Chinese and English language

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required (a degree in computer science game design or a related field is a strong plus).

• Strong understanding of localization workflows and video game development processes.

• Experience with bug tracking and test management tools (e.g. Jira Azure DevOps).

• Excellent communication in Chinese organizational and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
