International Field Application Engineer (FM) V.I.E. contract

Join ICAPE Group as an International Field Application Engineer (Engineering & Quality Development Program) F/M Dongguan (China)

As part of the development of our FAE Europe team we are looking for a young engineer wishing to grow in an international technical environment with a strong industrial dimension.

The position begins with a 12-month immersion renewable for 12 months within our office in Dongguan (China) which is the real operational center managing CIPEMs industrial activities in China and more broadly in Asia.

This experience is a comprehensive field training to acquire a thorough understanding:

• Industrial processes
• Product development
• Quality activities
• Supplier relations
• From the management of international technical projects.

The objective of this program is to train a future member of the FAE Europe CIPEM team. After this 12-month immersion in Dongguan the candidate will join the European teams in France to support our clients complex projects from the pre-sales phase to industrialization and serial follow-up.

The position revolves around two main poles:

Engineering

• Development and industrialization of projects
• Understanding of manufacturing processes
• Analysis of technical constraints
• Development of industrializable solutions
• Technical validation of products

Quality

• Quality process
• Quality Assurance (QA)
• Problem solving
• Treatment of non-conformities
• Quality controls and supplier monitoring
• Continuous improvement

Engineering Division

• Participate in the analysis of customer needs and technical specifications

• Participate in the research and development of industrializable technical solutions

• Understanding manufacturing constraints and integrating industrial requirements from the upstream phases

• Participate in the development of new products with internal teams and suppliers

• Follow samples tests and validations

• Discover and understand different technologies and product families developed by our partners:

  • Complete/turnkey products
  • PCBA
  • Display screen
  • Cables and connectors
  • Transformers
  • Plastic and silicone
  • Metal
  • Batteries
  • Assembly
  • Specific processes according to the projects

• Participate in project monitoring from the RFQ phase to series production

• Ensure the interface between technical teams suppliers and industrial partners

Quality Division

• Participate in the quality monitoring of manufacturing processes

• Participate in the treatment of internal and supplier non-conformities

• Participate in root cause analyses

• Participate in problem-solving according to the methodologies:

  • 8D
  • 5 Why
  • Ishikawa diagram (cause and effect)

• Participate in monitoring corrective and preventive actions

• Participate in product and process quality controls

• Attend supplier audits

• Participate in continuous improvement efforts

FAE Europe dimension evolution after the VIE programme

• Participate in pre-sales activities to support the sales teams
• Participate in technical exchanges with clients on complex projects
• Participate in mechanical design adaptation and product improvement activities as well as reverse engineering activities according to project needs
• Contribute to the identification and evaluation of technical solutions adapted to customer needs
• Follow up on projects with the European factories or the China service office
• Participate in the coordination of different stakeholders until industrialization

Profile

• Engineering degree five years of higher education
• Training in mechanics mechatronics electronics quality or industrialization
• Strong technical curiosity and interest in product design
• Interest in industrial processes and quality
• Analytical and structured mind
• Ability to evolve in an international environment
• Good interpersonal skills and a taste for teamwork
• Ability to communicate with different interlocutors
• Mandatory professional English

Would be appreciated:

• Quality knowledge (8D APQP FMEA SPC MSA)
• Industrial process knowledge
• CAD concepts (SolidWorks or equivalent) mechanical or electronic design
• First experience or interest in reverse engineering activities and product analysis
• First industrial project experience
