Job Summary
The Electrical Site Installation Supervisor is responsible for planning coordinating and supervising all electrical installation activities at the project site. The role ensures that electrical works are completed safely efficiently and in compliance with project specifications quality standards applicable codes and project schedules. The supervisor manages electrical technicians contractors and subcontractors while coordinating with engineering construction commissioning and client teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Electrical Installation Management supervise and coordinate all electrical installation activities on site.
2. Ensure electrical works are executed according to approve drawings specifications procedures and project requirements.
3. Oversee installation of:
- LV MV and HV electrical systems
- Power distribution systems
- Transformers and switchgear
- Motor Control Centers (MCCs)
- Electrical panels and distribution boards
- Cable trays conduits and supports
- Power and control cables
- Lighting grounding and lightning protection systems
- UPS and battery systems
- Monitor installation productivity and progress against project schedules.
- Ensure proper electrical equipment handling storage and Installation practices.
4. Safety Management
- Enforce compliance with all Health Safety and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
- Conduct daily toolbox talks and safety briefings.
- Ensure implementation of Permit-to-Work (PTW) procedures.
- Verify proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Identify and mitigate electrical hazards and risks.
- Participate in safety inspections audits and incident investigations
5. Quality Assurance and Control
- Ensure installations comply with project specifications applicable standards and client requirements.
- Support QA/QC inspections and testing activities.
- Review Inspection and Test Plans .
- Ensure proper completion of installation checklists and inspection records.
- Address construction defects and non-conformance reports (NCRs).
- Monitor punch list completion and close-out activities.
6. Team Supervision
- Supervise electricians electrical technicians and subcontractors.
- Assign daily work activities and monitor workforce productivity.
- Provide technical guidance and practical solutions for field issues.
- Evaluate workforce performance and training requirements.
- Ensure adequate manpower and resources are available to meet project objectives.
7. Project Coordination
- Coordinate with engineering procurement mechanical instrumentation and commissioning teams.
- Attend construction coordination meetings.
- Assist in planning and scheduling installation activities.
- Monitor material deliveries and identify shortages.
- Resolve site installation conflicts and technical issues.
- Support pre-commissioning and commissioning activities.
8. Documentation and Reporting
- Review and interpret:
- Single Line Diagrams (SLDs)
- Electrical Layout Drawings
- Cable Routing Drawings
- Wiring Diagrams
- Equipment Datasheets
- Load Schedules
- Maintain daily construction progress reports.
- Track installation quantities and project status.
- Ensure as-built drawings are updated accurately.
- Prepare turnover documentation for commissioning and project handover
Qualifications :
Education
- Diploma or Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering
Electrical Technology or a related field. - Relevant electrical trade certification is preferred
Experience
- Minimum 5-10 years of electrical construction experience
- At least 3 years in a supervisory role.
- Experience in industrial or infrastructure projects such as:
- Power Plant
- Oil & Gas Facilities
- Petrochemical Plants
- Manufacturing Facilities
- Data Centers
- Pharmaceutical Plants
- Water Treatment Plant
- Commercial and Industrial Buildings
Technical Skills
- Strong knowledge of electrical installation practices and construction methods.
- Experience with:
- LV/MV/HV systems
- Switchgear and transformers
- MCCs and VFDs
- Power distribution systems
- Cable installation and termination
- Earthing and lightning protection systems
- Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings and schematics.
- Familiarity with electrical testing and commissioning requirements
- Knowledge of industry standards such as:
- IEC
- NEC
- NFPA
- IEEE
- ISO Standards
- Local Electrical Codes and Regulation
