Job Summary

Job Purpose

This role is responsible for leading vendor management strategy and execution for eCommerce data acquisition in China ensuring high-quality vendor partnerships compliance and performance optimization.

The role builds upon core vendor management practices outlined in the base JD by expanding into strategic leadership local market expertise and vendor ecosystem development in Chinas unique digital commerce landscape.

Job Responsibilities

1. Vendor Strategy & Leadership:

  • Lead vendor selection onboarding and governance for China market
  • Develop strong vendor ecosystem and backup strategies
  • Drive strategic sourcing and cost optimization

2. Relationship Management:

  • Act as primary point of contact for vendors and internal stakeholders
  • Conduct regular business reviews and performance tracking

3. Performance & Quality Management:

  • Ensure vendors meet KPIs on data accuracy completeness and timeliness
  • Drive improvement initiatives and corrective actions

4. Cross-functional Collaboration:

  • Work with Product DSci Ops Procurement Finance and Legal
  • Ensure compliance with contracts and procurement processes

5. Localization & Market Expertise:

  • Provide insights into China eCommerce ecosystem (platforms regulations vendors)
  • Ensure compliance with local regulations and cultural business practices

  • Number of employees managed: Individual contributor
  • Geographical Scope: China
  • Functions Managed: Vendor lifecycle management

Success Measures

  • Vendor performance KPIs (quality timelines compliance)
  • Operational stability and issue resolution efficiency
  • Cost optimization and vendor efficiency gains
  • Stakeholder satisfaction and reporting rigor
  • Continuous improvement in vendor ecosystem

Qualifications :

  • Education: Bachelor/Master degree (Business Economics Data or related field)
  • Experience: 812 years in vendor management eCommerce data or procurement
  • Domain Expertise:
    • Strong knowledge of China eCommerce ecosystem (Alibaba JD Tmall etc.)
    • Vendor management and sourcing experience
  • Functional Skills:
    • Negotiation and stakeholder management
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Cultural Fit:
    • Ability to navigate Chinas local business culture
    • Strong ownership and accountability mindset
  • Language:
    • Proficient in both Mandarin and English
