Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the overall structural design of power battery packs including module layout enclosure strength analysis lightweight design and thermal management system integration ensuring high safety cost efficiency and manufacturability (DFM).
  • Responsible for product full life cycle management from concept design to mass production define technical requirements 3D model design and 2D drawing release prepare and participate in design reviews.
  • Analyze the impact of sheet metal stamping injection molding and die-casting processes on battery pack structures optimizing manufacturing workflows to reduce costs and improve efficiency.
  • Resolve complex technical issues during prototyping and mass production (e.g. welding deformation sealing failures) propose process improvements and guide tooling design for suppliers.
  • Lead finite element analysis (FEA) for battery packs covering structural strength vibration impact and thermodynamics simulations to ensure compliance with safety standards (e.g. UN38.3 GB/T 31467). Collaborate with testing teams to develop validation plans verifying pack reliability under extreme conditions (e.g. thermal cycling salt spray tests).
  • Act as the technical core coordinating with electrical thermal management and BMS teams for system integration and deliver documentation (BOM DFMEA). Support post-sales technical issue resolution.
  • Lead industry-leading technologies investigation (CTP/CTC technology thermal runaway protection lightweight design cost optimization) and implement the solutions on CAT battery design.

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree or above in Mechanical/Mechatronics/Materials/Electrical Engineering or related fields. Masters degree is preferred.
  • Over 8 years of experience in battery pack/module design with prismatic or blade cell familiar with key components such as cells busbar FPC cooling plate etc..
  • Deep knowledge of cell characteristics (e.g. NCM LFP) pack technologies (e.g. CTP/CTC) and industry trends (e.g. solid-state battery integration).
  • Complete battery pack development project experience familiar with the process from design to mass production (e.g. V-model development).
  • Proficient in battery pack system design tools (e.g. CATIA/CAD/ANSYS) and simulation analysis (CAE/CFD).
  • Familiar with battery industry standards and testing specifications.
  • Strong data analysis and statistical skills attention to detail and good record-keeping and reporting abilities.
  • Strong communication and project management skills.
  • Good written and verbal English skills enjoys teamwork interested in new technologies and self-motivated.
  • Experience in leading new energy vehicle companies or top battery companies is preferred.
