About the Role

Were looking for a proactive Associate Marketing Manager to lead marketing initiatives across two closely linked areas: team-wide cross-journal marketing campaigns that support the wider teams goals and marketing support for a broad portfolio of partnership titles and international society-owned journals. Youll work closely with local and global marketing teams the editorial team and partner societies to drive submission growth author engagement and brand impact for your assigned portfolio in the China market. The role also calls for comfort managing and interpreting large volumes of data to inform marketing decisions and youll partner with our internal Data and Technology team to explore and implement innovative AI-driven programs that optimize the effectiveness of cross-journal campaigns.

What Youll Do
  • Develop and implement marketing strategy and plans for cross-journal campaigns ensuring alignment with the overall business growth strategy and consistency of messaging and branding across local and global marketing channels.
  • Develop and implement the marketing plan for a portfolio of key partnership titles and international society-owned journals driving article submissions open access revenue growth and author base growth in line with China business goals.
  • Oversee the planning execution and optimization of marketing campaigns across events social media digital and other third-party platforms ensuring campaigns are delivered on time within budget and meet marketing-influenced targets.
  • Provide day-to-day marketing support for the partner journals portfolio including partner communications content and EDM delivery and event/webinar support to maintain strong partner relationships and drive engagement.
  • Develop annual marketing budget plans tailored to the China market set KPIs track marketing-impacted results and maximize ROI.
  • Build and manage relationships with key opinion leaders scientific societies and China partners to enhance brand recognition and strengthen partnerships.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders including local and global Marketing Editorial and Data Analytics and partner with the internal Data and Technology team to explore and implement innovative AI-driven programs.
  • Regularly analyze and report on marketing activities KPIs and budget utilization to senior management using data-driven insights to inform decisions and improve overall marketing effectiveness.

What Were Looking For
Essential
  • 3-5 years experience in the publishing industry or marketing.
  • Solid understanding of marketing principles including digital marketing content marketing social media marketing event marketing and branding.
  • Demonstrated experience managing successful marketing campaigns across various channels.
  • Proficiency with marketing tools and platforms such as social media management tools email marketing software and content management systems.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to craft persuasive marketing content and deliver effective presentations.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with a data-driven mindset.
  • Excellent communication skills with key stakeholders in English.
  • Comfortable working with and within cross-functional global and local teams.
  • A proactive results-driven approach with the ability to think logically.
  • Insight into the researcher market and a willingness to explore new marketing tactics.
  • A Masters degree in a STEM field is preferred.
Desirable
  • Overseas study background.
  • Proficiency in market research and data analysis techniques including experience with marketing analytics tools and platforms.
  • Experience working with journal partner societies associations or international publishing partners.
  • Experience communicating across cultures and leading or managing local and global joint projects.
  • Experience liaising with external partners societies or key opinion leaders.
