Principal responsibilities
This role will carry out some or all of the following activities:
- Drive and support the delivery of transformation programs balancing scope schedule interdependencies budget and risks to ensure timely and successful outcomes.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders to decompose complex business requirements into Epics and User Stories facilitating effective delivery by Technology teams.
- Manage and nurture relationships with internal and external stakeholders ensuring clear communication and alignment of objectives.
- Advocate for and implement Agile methodologies (e.g. Scrum Kanban Lean) within Technology teams aligning with HSBCs transformation frameworks.
- Support senior Project/Programme Managers throughout all initiative lifecycle stages to deliver complex and high-priority programs and projects.
- Define and manage staffing resourcing responsibilities and schedules to optimize team performance and project delivery.
- Establish and maintain effective program controls and procedures ensuring adherence to HSBC standards and change frameworks.
- Oversee the development and promotion of the technology portfolio and project management best practices.
- Set high quality standards and implement quality assurance processes to ensure program excellence.
- Lead teams to achieve program objectives managing all aspects of financial management including headcount and capital expenditures.
- Negotiate and manage relationships with external suppliers including technology vendors ensuring service agreements are met.
- Report on progress issues dependencies and risks to steering committees and initiative leadership providing recommendations to influence decision-making and ensure benefits realization.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Business Information Technology Project Management or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
- Proven experience (10 years) in project and programme management within the banking or financial services industry.
- Strong understanding of core banking systems and transformation programs.
- Expertise in Agile methodologies (Scrum Kanban Lean) and experience in implementing Agile frameworks.
- Demonstrated ability to lead large-scale complex projects with cross-functional and multicultural teams.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills with the ability to influence at all organizational levels.
- Strong financial acumen including budget management and financial reporting.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. PMP PRINCE2 Agile Certified Practitioner) are highly desirable.
