Job Summary
We are currently seeking a Water Wastewater Engineer to join our Water Wastewater team. Our team specializes in the strategy and technical execution of water wastewater and municipal infrastructure projects that shape our communities.
This is a new position and is based at our London or Kitchener office. We offer flexible work hours and hybrid work arrangement options to help balance the competing demands of work and personal life.

About the Position
Design & Technical Activities
- Lead and undertake process planning evaluation and design for municipal and industrial water treatment plants wastewater treatment facilities and potable water/wastewater pumping stations.
- Provide technical leadership in the planning assessment process modelling and detailed design of treatment systems including screening grit removal biological treatment nutrient removal solids handling filtration disinfection pumping systems residuals management and related process equipment.
- Deliver technical studies feasibility assessments master plans process selection evaluations condition assessments regulatory compliance reviews and upgrade strategies for existing and new facilities.
- Prepare and review process calculations design criteria equipment specifications process flow diagrams (PFDs) P&IDs hydraulic profiles commissioning plans and technical reports.
- Lead multidisciplinary design teams through all phases of project delivery from conceptual planning and preliminary design through detailed design tendering contract administration and commissioning
- Coordinate and collaborate with mechanical electrical instrumentation and controls structural architectural and civil disciplines to deliver integrated treatment facility designs.
- Provide technical oversight guidance and mentorship to junior engineers designers and technical staff.
- Support construction administration activities including shop drawing reviews RFIs field inspections commissioning start-up assistance and performance verification.
- Liaise with municipal clients regulators Indigenous communities contractors equipment suppliers and approval agencies throughout project development and delivery.
- Apply innovative approaches digital tools and emerging treatment technologies to improve project outcomes operational reliability sustainability and lifecycle performance.
- Contribute to the advancement of Dillons technical practice through development of standards design tools best practices and technical excellence initiatives.

- Proactively seek and cultivate new long-term business opportunities that align with our sustainability goals and drive responsible growth including submissions responding to requests for proposals preparation of proposals and statements of qualification
- Provide strategic leadership in strengthening and expanding existing client relationships with a focus on long-term partnerships and developing strong value-driven proposals and statements of qualification.
- Contribute technical expertise to pursuits interviews and proposals for water treatment wastewater treatment biosolids pumping station and related infrastructure projects.
- Support the continued growth of Dillons Water and Wastewater Practice through delivery excellence industry presence and strong client relationships.

- Licensed to practice as a professional engineer in your field or eligible to register.
- A bachelors degree in civil environmental or chemical engineering.
- Proven expertise in water wastewater developed through 8 years of experience in consulting or related fields with a track record of technical leadership.
- Demonstrated expertise in treatment process design with experience leading projects through planning design construction and commissioning stages.
- Strong understanding of the regulatory framework governing municipal water and wastewater systems in Canada.
- Experience managing technical scope budgets schedules and multidisciplinary project teams is considered an asset.
- Experience with process modelling hydraulic analysis and treatment facility optimization is considered an asset.
- Extensive experience in the assessment process design and upgrade of municipal water treatment plants wastewater treatment facilities and pumping stations.
- Strong technical knowledge of physical chemical and biological treatment processes including nutrient removal advanced treatment technologies residuals management and disinfection systems.
- Experience developing process design criteria treatment train evaluations equipment specifications hydraulic profiles and detailed engineering deliverables.
- Proven experience completing functional designs preliminary designs detailed designs contract documents tender support construction services commissioning and start-up assistance.
- Familiarity with water and wastewater treatment process modelling process control philosophies and operational optimization strategies.
- Working knowledge of relevant provincial and federal regulations design guidelines and industry standards applicable to water and wastewater facilities.
- Ability to evaluate complex technical issues develop practical solutions and communicate recommendations effectively to clients regulators and project teams.
- Demonstrated technical leadership and a commitment to engineering excellence.
- Strong interpersonal presentation technical writing and client relationship skills.
- Motivated by challenging technical work continuous learning mentoring others and delivering high-quality infrastructure that benefits communities.

Compensation
$85000 - $135000
Dillon is including the salary range that we in good faith believe may offer for this position. It will be dependent on the successful applicants education experience and skills in addition to internal equity and geographic region. Dillon reserves the right to pay outside of the posted range contingent on factors unrelated to an applicants gender or other status protected by provincial and/or federal law.
