Veterinary Purchasing Co. Ltd. (VP)is the largest veterinary-owned distributor in Canada. Our primary purpose is to ensure that veterinarians have the supplies they need when they need it to provide healthcare to all types of animals. VP is hiring dedicated dependable Warehouse Associates to help launch and grow our new Moncton operation. This is a unique opportunity to be part of building a safe accurate and efficient warehouse from day one.
WAREHOUSE ASSOCIATE (Permanent Part-Time)
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager and Warehouse Supervisor the Warehouse Associate performs receiving inventory order-processing and shipping duties. The position supports the accurate and efficient movement of products from receipt through final shipment while maintaining inventory accuracy product quality and a clean organized and safe working environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Unload incoming shipments using appropriate material-handling equipment
Verify products against purchase orders and packing slips identifying shortages damage expiry concerns and other discrepancies
Record receipts inventory movements and product locations accurately using handheld scanners and warehouse systems
Label store and rotate products in the appropriate locations according to FIFO/FEFO and regulated-product requirements
Replenish picking locations and maintain accurate organized inventory throughout the warehouse
Pick and verify customer orders to ensure the correct products and quantities are selected
Pack and label orders to protect products during transportation and prepare them for shipment
Operate pallet trucks lift trucks and other warehouse equipment as licensed or complete required training
Maintain a clean and orderly work environment and perform other related warehouse duties as assigned
Physical Requirements:
The successful candidate must be able to perform the following essential physical requirements:
Walk and stand for the duration of the shift
Repetitively lift carry and handle products weighing up to 50 lbs (23 kg)
Bend reach climb push and pull while safely completing warehouse tasks
Work in varying warehouse temperatures
Health & Safety
Works in compliance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act and follows VPs policies and procedures
Conducts self with regard for the safety of all employees
Participates in required health and safety training and meetings takes part in emergency drills and understands emergency response and evacuation procedures
Reports any health & safety violations or hazards to Supervisor and/or Manager
Good Manufacturing Practices:
Follows and understands all relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) with respect to Good Manufacturing Practices and Transportation of Dangerous Goods

Skills and knowledge required:

Demonstrated versatility and willingness to learn and perform receiving inventory order-processing and shipping functions.
Ability to adapt to changing operational priorities and move effectively between warehouse responsibilities.
Ability to work safely with minimal supervision or as part of a small team.
Warehouse order-picking or material-handling experience is an asset but not required.
Schedule:
Regular workdays: Sunday through Thursday
Start time: Between 12:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. based on operational requirements
End time: When the days orders are processed - typically around 6:00 p.m. End times may vary with daily order volume.
Expected hours: Approximately 4-5 hours per day or 20-25 hours per week
**NOTE: Schedules subject to change depending on business needs.
Compensation
Starting Wage: $18.60 per hour
