Wage Range: $20.83 - $26.04Â per hour.
Hours: 15Â Hours per Week
Shifts:Â Days Evenings Weekends 8 & 12 Hour Shifts
Status:Â Permanent Part-Time
Closing Date: June 18Â 2026
Duties
The principal responsibilities of the Ward Clerk include:
- Answering screening and triaging telephone calls
- Receiving and assisting visitors coming in to be with family or friends
- Scheduling patients for tests special procedures and/or urgent/emergency appointments
- Following established procedures to ensure the efficient flow of patient/patient appointments
- Providing routine clerical support services
- Performing cross-functional duties as assigned and/or required
- Performing other duties consistent with the job classification as assigned and/or required.
Qualifications :
- At minimum completion of Grade 12 or recognized equivalent
- Minimum one (1) year related clerical experience
- Experience using EPIC PHS ORSOS an asset
- Experience working in a Microsoft Office software environment
- General knowledge of office practices processes and procedures
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Experience working in a health care environment an asset
- Accurate data entry skills with excellent attention to detail
- Must be able to read and understand sort notes brief forms and/or instructions
- Ability to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standards
- Exercise initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-task
- Compliance with confidentiality requirements under UHN Privacy Policy
- Effective organizational time management interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of applicable legislative UHN and/or departmental policies
- Client service oriented with the ability to effectively work with diversity and appreciate that people with different opinions backgrounds and characteristics bring richness to the challenge or situation at hand
- Ability to work effectively and efficiently in a fast paced environment
- Ability to handle difficult patients/situations
- Ability to meet the physical demands of the job Â
