Job Summary
The Role
Werelooking for a Senior Software Developer to join our Data Products Operations team reporting to the Manager Software Development.
At NasdaqVerafin our Data Platform teams build andoperatethe data foundations that power critical analytics fraud detection capabilities consortium insights and customer-facing products across the this role youll help ensure the reliability scalability and efficiency of the systems that support our growing portfolio of data products.
Youllwork closely with engineers across Data Platform Cloud Platform Enterprise Analytics and Product teams to solve complex operational challenges improve system resiliency and build automation that makes it easier to deliver and operatelarge-scale data solutions.
WhatYoullDo
Support and enhance the operational health reliability and performance of our Data Products Platform.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues across data services pipelines and platform components.
Design and build automation that reduces operational overhead and improves platform resiliency.
Develop tools monitoring and observability solutions that help teams detect and resolve issues faster.
Partner with software development teams toidentifyroot causes and implement long-term solutions to recurring problems.
Contribute to the evolution of our platform architecture deployment processes and operational best practices.
WhatYoullBring
Bachelors degree in Computer Science Computer Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
3 years of experience developing and supporting software systems in production environments.
Experience with big data tools such as Spark Iceberg Hudi Hadoop or other modern data lake and data pipeline technologies.
Strong programming experience with languages such as Java Python or similar along with cloud-based systems and modern software development practices.
Proven problem-solving and debugging skills with the ability to investigate complex technical issues and implement practical solutions.
Strong communicationand collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
Experience applying AI tools or AI-assisted development practices to improve coding debugging documentation automation or developer productivity.
Nice to Have
Experience with large-scale data processing data platforms or distributed systems.
Experience with AWS services CI/CD pipelines or platform engineering practices.
Experience with Infrastructure as code such as Terraform.
This position willbe located inSt. Johns orTorontoandoffers the opportunity for a hybrid work environment at least 3 days a week in-office subject to change providing flexibility and accessibility for qualified candidates.
