Upholstery Technician-Aviation

Duties and Responsibilities include such areas as:

• Remove fabricate install refurbish and modify aircraft interior equipment and furnishings
• Inspect repair and maintain aircraft interior including but not limited to upholstery carpet cabinetry panels lighting and other furnishings
• Fabricate using design/engineering drawings and aircraft specifications cover and install flat panels and curtains
• Fabricate various metal parts fit panels cabin head liners upper sidewalls lower side panels and hatch panels.
• Work with fabric vinyl and leather hides composites and other materials using specified adhesives sewing equipment hardware hand tools and various power tools
• Perform and document work performed per appropriate manuals and regulations as required

Qualifications :

• Valid Drivers License (Drivers Abstract Required)
• Proven work experience as an upholsterer is an asset
• Proficiency in using upholstery hand tools for aircraft interior components
• Fluent English communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to interpret design templates for aircraft interior modifications
• Must have the ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs
• Must be able to obtain Transport Canada Airport Restricted Area Pass
