Union DRC Truck Driver

As a Truck Driveryou will provide courteous pick-up and delivery service to donors guests and Thrift Stores andassistin the efficient and effective reclamation processing and/or distribution of goods and donations. You will exercise safe and careful driving and material handling procedureswhile adhering to CVOR requirementsestablishedcategories and standards.

This is a casual/relief/on-call (seasonal) position.

Job Duties

• Provide courteous daily drop-off and pick-up service to assigned ThriftStores;

• Ability to drive a 5-ton truck safely andcompetently;

• Responsible for daily inspection completion of logbook and safe and courteous driving of company vehicle and adheres to all CVORrequirements;

• Operates standard warehouse equipment such as a forklift baler compactor and palletjack;

• Provide guest service by greeting andassistingguests in a courteous manner when guests are dropping off donations at the DistributionCentre ;

• Responsible to complete refuse runs to the landfill (where);

• Participation in cross-docking tofacilitatemovement of product around the country (where);

• Comply withall legislative and company policies and procedures adhering to Health and Safety Operations and Finance.

Truck Driver Skills and Qualifications

• 2 years experience in the safe operation of5-tontrucks;

• Possess a valid Class 5 drivers license with clean drivers abstract;

• One year of experience in a warehouseenvironment;

• Physically capable of lifting/carrying up to 50 lbs on a frequentbasis;

• Frequent lifting carrying standing walkingbendingandtwisting;

• Ability to work in a variety of environments (exposure to heat cold dust etc.);

• Minimumgrade 10 orequivalent;

• Demonstrated trustworthiness andresponsibility;

• Good written and oral English (French where);

• Must be resident in and eligible to work inCanada;

• Ability to undergo applicable screening and background checks successfully that are satisfactory to The Salvation Army in its sole discretion.
