Tunnel inspector

Who are we looking for

Our Rail and Transit group located in our Greater Toronto Area Offices is looking for a Tunnel Inspector to perform inspection duties underground tunnelling projects.

Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:

• Working safely in conformance with GHDs Behaviour-Based Safety culture and in conformance with all safety requirements of the railway
• Completing day-to-day inspections of tunnel construction including in accordance with client terms of reference and manuals
• Daily completion of project records / diary entries
• Monitoring contractor work for compliance with contract specifications
• Monitoring contractor work for compliance with applicable safety and environmental legislation
• Taking action in consultation with Construction Manager and in accordance with contract requirements when non-conformances are observed
• Making recommendations / proposing solutions for emerging project issues
• Working nights weekends extended shifts
• Working overtime hours as necessary
• Other duties as may be assigned

What you will bring to the team:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in QA/QC inspection of TBM tunneling with precast concrete segmental lining
• OACETT rcsi designation or PEO EIT designation considered an asset
• Sound judgment and decisiveness; strong organizational administrative observational and problem-solving skills;
• Effective interpersonal and oral and written communication skills
• Team player cooperative with other staff with open sharing of information and knowledge
• MTO Class G drivers license in good standing and access to a vehicle

• The salary range for this position is $75900 to $126500.The posted salary rangerepresentsthe expected hiring range for GHD locations in its major citycentres. Ranges may vary for positions in other locations. At GHD base salary isdeterminedby your skills experiencequalificationsand work are committed to offering competitive compensation and adhere to all relevant pay transparency legislation.
