Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily trust accounting operations and related workflows
- Review and approve trust transactions including deposits withdrawals electronic transfers and payment requests
- Perform monthly trust reconciliations and assist with reporting requirements
- Support transaction closings payouts and other trust-related financial activities
- Ensure compliance with applicable trust accounting rules regulations and internal policies
- Assist with audit preparation reporting obligations and regulatory deadlines
- Provide mentorship training and day-to-day support to accounting staff
- Collaborate with lawyers staff and leadership regarding trust accounting matters
- Identify opportunities to improve procedures controls and operational efficiency
- Minimum 3 years of trust accounting experience within a law firm environment
- Previous supervisory team lead or mentoring experience is an asset
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong knowledge of trust accounting procedures reconciliations and compliance requirements
- Ability to work paid overtime as needed
- Strong organizational communication and problem-solving skills
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
- Experience with legal accounting or practice management systems
