Job Description
Role: Transportation Recruiter
Job Summary: D&W is seeking a dedicated Transportation Recruiter to lead high-volume driver recruitment across our operating regions. This is a specialized hands-on recruitment role responsible for attracting and hiring more than 100 qualified drivers over the next 12 months while building a sustainable pipeline for future workforce needs. The successful candidate will understand the transportation labour market and the realities of recruiting professional drivers. They will combine proactive sourcing with a strong presence in the communities where we operate regularly attending job fairs industry events trade shows hiring events and other in-person recruitment activities.
This position may be based in either the Greater Toronto Area or Calgary and requires the flexibility and willingness to travel frequently across all D&W operating regions.

Job Responsibilities
Develop and execute a recruitment strategy to hire 100 qualified drivers across Canada and the U.S.
Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from workforce planning to onboarding.
Build and maintain driver candidate pipelines across operating regions.
Source candidates through job boards social media referrals schools associations and direct outreach.
Represent D&W at job fairs industry events trade shows and community recruitment initiatives.
Build partnerships with driving schools agencies industry groups and community organizations.
Collaborate with operations leaders to understand hiring needs and workforce challenges.
Provide candidates with accurate information on roles schedules pay equipment and requirements.
Screen candidates for licenses experience qualifications safety records and fit.
Coordinate background checks references road tests medicals and other pre-employment requirements.
Deliver a professional and responsive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
Identify and address barriers to candidate conversion acceptance and retention.
Partner with Marketing and Communications on targeted recruitment campaigns and materials.
Maintain accurate candidate data in the applicant tracking system.
Track recruitment metrics and provide regular hiring and pipeline reports.
Stay current on industry trends competitor activity compensation and regulations.
Support additional recruitment initiatives as business needs evolve.
Qualifications
Postsecondary education in Human Resources Business Administration Transportation or a related discipline is preferred.
Three or more years of recruitment experience ideally within transportation logistics trucking construction heavy industry or another specialized high-volume environment in both the US and Canada.
Demonstrated success recruiting professional drivers or other difficult-to-fill frontline roles is strongly preferred.
Experience managing high-volume recruitment targets across multiple locations or regions.
Strong knowledge of sourcing strategies for passive and active driver candidates.
Familiarity with commercial driver licensing driver abstracts safety records and transportation-related pre-employment requirements is an asset.
Experience using applicant tracking systems job boards social media and other recruitment technologies.
Strong interviewing assessment relationship-building and candidate-management skills.
Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage a large candidate pipeline and multiple competing priorities.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
