Arrow is a leader in Reload Operations partnering with Class 1 railways in Canada to inventory and transfer product between truck rail and container shipping to for delivery to satisfied customers.
We are looking for a TransloadOperator to join our Tkemlúps Reloadteam in Kamloops BC. Lumber steel and dry and liquid bulk goods arrive at the facility by truck or rail. The Transload Operator will safely and efficiently transfer these commodities to truck rail or container for furtherance.
Tkemlúps Transload is proudly operated as a Joint Venture enterprise between Arrow Transportation and Sc.wénwen Economic Development Corporation the business arm of Tkemlúps te Secwépemc.

Responsibilities
Load railcars with various commodoties which may include forestry products dry and liquid bulk goods and others
Prepare the rail cars for loading/unloading; including a thorough inspection
Ability tooperateor learn tooperateand maintain railcar/transloadingequipment (e.g. hoses transfer pumps portable stair systems small to medium sized equipment forklift etc.)
Follow all workplace safety policies and compliance regulationsparticipateinidentifyinghazards
Provide internal and external Customer Service excellence
Complying withall rules and regulationsprotocolsand established metrics
Ability to understand cross training on all functions at facility
Can accurately fill out all necessary paperwork timesheets load reports rail car defect reports etc.
May be asked to travel to othertransloadterminals toassistif necessary
Understand how to properly sample and record the commodity for measurements and levels
Assisthaulers fixing their equipment to ours checking for leaks andoperatingtheir pump as necessary
Other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager
You Possess
1-2 years experience operating heavy equipment in a safety sensitive environment
Ability to perform physically demanding work including climbing railcars and ladders working at heights crawling under railcars and walking on uneven terrain
Able to lift up to 50 lbs and use tools such as a 10 lb sledgehammer
Willing and able to work outdoors in all weather conditions
Willing to work with bulk materials including hazardous commodities
Ability to follow schedules work independently and complete daily tasks reliably
Willingness to travel to other terminals as required
Strong attention to detail
Experience working with computers
Completion of or ability to complete required safety and industry training (e.g. First Aid WHMIS TDG Rail Safe fall protection H2S SCBA emergency response commodity-specific training is an asset
Strong communication skills (verbal and written) and solid interpersonal skills
Reliable accountable and dependable
Strong work ethic with a positive team-oriented attitude
Flexible and able to work effectively in a diverse environment
