Job Summary

Key Responsibilities


As a Transit Architect with the Perkins&Will team you will:

  • Demonstrate advanced knowledge of project complexity to proactively contribute to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in design execution and sustainable and resilient design.
  • Lead development of design ideas concepts and solutions while participating as an integral member of the design team.
  • Coordinate drawings within teams and with consultants for schematic design design development and construction documents.
  • Analyze product research and identify material selections.
  • Prepare and oversee development of material for client design presentations.
  • Participate in client presentations.
  • Effectively manage competing priorities and workloads to ensure project commitments are delivered on time with a high degree of organization and consistency.
  • Demonstrate curiosity and proactively seek exposure to project management responsibilities.
  • Support the growth and development of team members through project-based mentorship teaching and appropriate delegation and supervision.
  • Participate in studio design reviews charettes and pin-ups.
  • Proactively foster communication and collaboration across the design team.
  • Express curiosity about the world of design and industry at large.
  • Communicate ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others.
  • Coordinateeffectively with partners and consultants.

  • Advanced knowledge of 2D/3D production software
  • Advanced Revit
  • Conceptual modeling tools such as Rhino and Grasshopper
  • Microsoft Office / Adobe Suite (InDesign and Photoshop)
  • Visualization tools such as Enscape and VRay

Qualifications and Certifications

  • 5 years of experience with 2 years in the design and/or construction of transit facilities strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of experience with demonstrated construction site experience in Canada.
  • Degree in architecture or related discipline required.
  • Architectural license considered an asset.
  • LEED GA within 6 months of hire.
  • Professional Accreditation in one area of Living Design that interests you: LEED AP with Specialty BREEAM AP WELL AP SITES AP Passive House Institute Certified Passive House Consultant/Designer CPHC/CPHD or ILFI Living Future Accreditation within the first 12 months of hire.
