JOB OVERVIEW
Ontario Power Generation (OPG) is looking for a dynamic strategic and results-driven professional to join our team in the role of Training Technician Health Physics.
Reporting to the Section Manager Training Integration this position is responsible for delivering developing and supporting technical training within the Health Physics work function maintaining subjectmatter proficiency while ensuring strict adherence to safety procedures and regulations. The role requires strong knowledge of radiation protection atomic physics and nuclear power station operations along with the ability to analyze technical information to ensure regulatory compliance.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Deliver approved Health Physics training in classroom shop or work environments while ensuring compliance with safety procedures Conduct of Training standards and the Business Code of Conduct.
- Develop review and revise training curriculum lesson plans learning objectives evaluation tools and job performance measures within assigned areas of expertise.
- Conduct job task needs and cost analyses; collaborate with subject matter experts to define required knowledge skills and performance standards.
- Administer grade and analyze tests and evaluations; assess trainee progress and report trends issues and outcomes to management.
- Assign oversee and coach trainees maintaining discipline attendance safety and order within the training environment.
- Prepare and maintain training facilities equipment and materials to ensure readiness accuracy and effectiveness of training delivery.
- Maintain technical skills and competencies within the Health Physics trade while upholding personal and collective health safety and wellbeing standards.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma plus 2 year community college.
- A minimum of 3 years working experience as a Training technician.
- Good working knowledge of radiation protection atomic physics and nuclear power station environments.
- Ability to analyze tests investigations and performance data to determine compliance with regulatory limits.
- Strong ability to prepare instructional materials evaluations and training documentation with attention to accuracy and standards.
- Demonstrated instructional coaching and leadership skills in a technical or industrial training environment.
