Job Description

MISSIONS:

Reporting to the Recreation Manager the Recreation Aideassistsin the planningorganizationand implementation of meaningful programs for the residents.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

Assistin the planningorganizationand implementation of meaningful programs for the residents in collaboration with the Recreation Manager and Executive Director.

Assistswith the maintenance ofappropriate departmentrecords including assessments evaluations of planned programs detailing individual participation charting.

Maintains effective communication and good human relations with residents familiesvolunteersand staff of other departments keeping them informed of current and upcoming events.

Attends in-service educationin order tokeep informed of current trends in the total care of the elderly.

Participates in team meetings to plan programs with residents interest in mind.

Facilitatingresidents toscheduledand pre-arranged outings.

Assistingwith assessment of individual resident activity levels.

Preparing carryingoutand evaluating daily activities.

Assistingwith meal services as.

Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED EDUCATION CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE:

College diploma in Recreation Leisure Studiesor equivalent isrequired

GPA Training

Previousexperience working with seniors

Proficiencyin Microsoft Office Applications (Word Excel PowerPoint Outlook)

Excellent oral and written communication skills

An energetic compassionate person who enjoys working with the elderly

Current (within 6 months) Vulnerable Sector Screening/Search
