Job Summary

Technician Aircraft

Location: Ottawa ON

Schedule: 12-hour continental shifts (6:00 PM to 6:00 AM)

Compensation: $24.44 $36.27 per hour with opportunities to earn and bank overtime in accordance with the GAFAE Collective Agreement. Starting salary will be determined based on internal equity and the successful candidates qualifications skills and relevant experience.

Reporting to: Senior Manager Line & Heavy Maintenance Operations

About the Opportunity

Under the supervision of an Aircraft Certification Authority (ACA) the Aircraft Technician performs scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on Boeing 737 and ATR aircraft in accordance with manufacturer specifications approved maintenance procedures and industry standards.

What Youll Do

  • Perform work on aircraft and components as outlined by applicable Work Sheets Forms Work Orders Special Bulletins and Procedures Manuals in conformity with accepted practices;
  • Perform work to the appropriate procedure manuals utilizing approved methods and materials;
  • Responsible to the applicable shift supervisor for the assignment and performance of their work;
  • Familiarize with all procedures for maintenance repairs to the aircraft and/or equipment they are requested to work on;
  • Perform aircraft reconfigurations as required by the operation;
  • Responsibly use and maintain company equipment;
  • Maintain clean and orderly work areas;
  • Other duties as assigned.

What Youll Bring

Required Qualifications

  • Post-secondary Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (AME) diploma from a Transport Canada-approved program;
  • Eligible to obtain a Transport Canada AME License;
  • Valid Canadian Drivers License;
  • Willingness to travel;
  • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines;
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work effectively with internal and external customers;
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced team-oriented environment;
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Airside Vehicle Operator Permit (AVOP);
  • Must obtain and retain a Restricted Area Identity Card in accordance with the Airport Restricted Area Access Clearance Program regulated by Transport Canada.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous aircraft maintenance experience;
  • Ability to communicate in Inuktitut.
