Technical Lead, Aerospace Development
Job Summary
ADGA is seeking an experienced Technical Lead Aerospace Development to lead the design development evaluation and sustainment of Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (UAS) and related aerospace products. This role involves providing Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in the form of engineering support for Counter-UAS.
Tasks include:
- Plan recommend product improvement of existing and new systems.
- Produce equipment review reports improvement studies modification plans and miscellaneous project documentation.
- Develop implement monitor and improve maintenance program and issue special inspections.
- Provide engineering and technical advice and guidance to Joint Staff and units.
- Participate in technical working groups and support the transfer of technical information when directed.
- Conduct staff visits to provide technical liaison and
- Visit domestic and foreign manufacturing and support facilities for technical and inquiry purposes.
Qualifications :
- Experience in CAF (Canadian Armed Forces) aerospace technology roles in the areas of aircraft maintenance aircraft operations or avionics would be considered preferrable.
- Proof of Engineering bachelors degree in aerospace software computer systems electrical or a suitable engineering or technical field required to support the Unmanned Aerial Systems.
- Ability to demonstrate a minimum of 6 years of experience (within the last 8 years) performing the following tasks in the aerospace industry or related field:
- Directing and coordinating the design manufacture and testing of aircraft and aerospace products.
- Evaluating designs to ensure compliance with engineering principles customer requirements and environmental regulations
- Developing acceptance criteria for design methodologies quality standards sustainment activities and project timelines
- Inspecting malfunctioning or damaged systems to identify root causes and recommend corrective actions
- Experience designing and developing a variety of aerospace products including:
- Commercial and military fixed-wing aircraft and helicopters
- Remotely piloted aircraft systems (RPAS) and rotorcraft
- Space systems including launch vehicles and satellites
- Military missiles and rocket systems
- Ability to demonstrate a minimum of 6 years of experience (in the last 8 years) in the preparation of technical airworthiness documentation which includes:
- Technical Airworthiness Clearance Plans
- Special Purpose Flight Permits
- Airworthiness Risk Assessments
- Statements of Operational Intent
- Engineering Process Manual Supplements (EPMS)
- Ability to demonstrate a minimum of 6 years experience in each of the following:
- Developing briefing notes and presentations to address engineering and technical issues pertaining to equipment.
- Liaising with stakeholders to support the life cycle management of equipment.
- Providing advice guidance and recommendations on technical issues to support the decision-making of senior management.
- Demonstrated experience in developing advanced technologies in one or more of the following areas:
- Aerodynamic fluid flow
- Structural design
- Guidance navigation and control (GNC)
- Instrumentation and communication systems
- Robotics
- Propulsion and combustion
Additional Information :
- Must currently hold or be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret (Level II) Canadian Federal Government Security clearance.
- Would be required to hold a Controlled Goods Certificate at time of hire.
