What youll be doing

As a Team Leader Compensation Administration you will provide specialized operational knowledge and guidance to Volumes & Commission department staff consisting of ten administrative staff performing a range of clerical and accounting adjustments each month. You will ensure the ongoing operation of the department is performing effectively and efficiently meeting all month-end deadlines. General responsibilities include reviewing work of administrative staff coordinating work-flow processes providing knowledge and guidance for commission related issues and projects (for Clients Finance and Technology). Investigation is typically required to complete the work and an in-depth knowledge of CIBC World Markets policy is preferred.

The expected annualized base salary range for this role is $66090 to $85550.

The base salary is determined by a variety of factors including the candidates skills experience and job-related knowledge as well as geographic location and specific business needs. Our compensation philosophy supports ongoing growth and development enabling progression within the salary range as team members advance in their roles.

In addition to base pay compensation for this roleincludes participation in an annual discretionary incentive orbonus program.

How youll succeed

  • Provide operational leadership and coaching Act as the teams senior point of contact by providing day-to-day guidance coaching and specialized knowledge on commission-related processes accounting adjustments and issue resolution. Support colleagues in resolving complex matters while helping ensure work is completed accurately and on time.
  • Strengthen processes controls and reporting Support the effective execution of procedures and controls related to commission processing reconciliations financial journals reporting and attestations. Help identify gaps investigate variances and promote compliance with audit SOX and business continuity requirements.
  • Lead complex issue resolution and stakeholder support Investigate/solve commission-related inquiries General Ledger impacts and technical issues and provide guidance on escalations projects and business initiatives involving partners across Finance Technology and the business.
  • Drive continuous improvement Identify opportunities to improve workflows enhance efficiency and support implementation of process or system changes. Contribute to projects testing and issue analysis to help improve operational effectiveness.

  • You bring strong operational experience in commission processing payroll specialization accounting operations and complex reconciliations supported by knowledge of Broadridge (ADP/PostEdge) General Ledger accounts (SAP) accounting practices financial controls and the brokerage and regulatory environment with a strong focus on compliance governance and risk management.
