Job Summary
THE OPPORTUNITYWe have an opportunity for a Tax Reporting Administrator (18-Month Contract) to join our award-winning firm in the Vancouver YOULL DOReporting to the Supervisor Tax Reporting you will play a key part in ensuring the accurate and timely preparation of tax-related documentation and tax reporting for clients and regulatory accurate tax records and help ensure compliance with CRA/IRS and other regulatory requirementsSupport the reconciliation and validation of tax data from internal systemsAssist in the preparation and distribution of annual tax slips (e.g. T3 T5 1099 T5013)Research and investigate income and corporate action reorganization events for tax reporting purposesProvide client service and administrative support to Investment Advisors and AssistantsRespond to internal and external inquiries related to tax documents and reporting accurately and in a timely mannerEnsure standard operating procedures are followed and accuracy of processing is maintained in a fast paced service-driven environmentIdentify opportunities to streamline processes for operational efficiencies and collaborate with team members to document new and existing processesEngage in continuous learning and development to build tax reporting knowledge and expertiseParticipate in Corporate Actions and Tax Reporting projects as neededCOMPETENCIESAnalysis Assess quantitative and qualitative data information or situations to understand the most important details identify patterns or meaning and translate it into useful recommendations decisions or actionsCoordination Prioritize organize and manage information people assets resources messages tasks and/or activities to achieve a goal within timelinesCustomer Service Determine needs capture relevant information apply internal policy or regulation and escalate and prioritize the requests of customers to answer inquiries fulfill transactions or resolve issuesOperational Policy and Procedures Apply knowledge of the firms procedures and processes to execute work to a high standard of consistency efficiency compliance and safetyProject Management Plan coordinate execute and oversee projects balancing time resources and scope to achieve objectives support stakeholders and meet deadlinesRegulatory Knowledge Understand and apply relevant laws regulations and standards to meet legal and ethical requirements and reduce risk for clients and the firmSystems and Application Proficiency Use maintain manage or improve specific systems or applications in our role to work effectively and efficientlyKNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE1 years of investment industry experience in Corporate Actions Taxation Client Services Banking or similar functionWorking knowledge of Canadian tax slips and regulatory requirementsPost-secondary education in Business Finance Accounting or a related field or an equivalent combination of education and experienceProven experience of serving clients in a professional services environmentExceptional attention to detail and skilled at working efficiently and accuratelyStrong organizational skills with ability to prioritize important and time-sensitive tasksMotivated and eager to learn with a strong sense of accountability and willingness to take on new tasks and responsibilitiesStrong interpersonal and relationship-building skills with ability to work independently and within a teamExcellent verbal and written communication skillsIntermediate proficiency with Microsoft 365 applicationsExperience with the Broadridge Dataphile platform or similar bookkeeping system is considered an assetFamiliarity with the investment industry tax reporting or accounting processes is considered an assetWHAT WE OFFERA culture of openness collaboration and respect is foundational to our firm.
