Job Description:

Focus: Strategy and Development (8 month term Jan-Aug 2027)

This role will provide planning strategic support to senior executives within Digital Business & Technology Solutions and to our various internal partners throughout the organization. Particular focus for this role will be in the area of executive strategy sessions and balanced addition research and competitive intelligence gathering and synthesis for review by participants in our digital transformation.

What will you do

The Junior Strategy Analysts main accountabilities include but are not limited to:

  • Strategy Support the CIO our Technology executives delivery teams and our business partners to define and advance our strategic ambitions.
  • Digital and Generative AI transformation Support key initiatives within Sun Lifes digital transformation programsour drive to embrace agile principles at scale to deliver leading client experiences on our digital platformsincluding the target operating model organizational design digital metrics and objectives and coordinating regular executive workshops and meetings.
  • Technology metrics Support the development socialization and management of digital metrics objectives and key results (OKRs) and balanced scorecard that provide insights on the progress towards operational and transformational technology ambitions.
  • Communications Support the expansion of the presence of IT across the organization through executive-level communications reporting and business development.

What do you need to succeed

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary or equivalent degree with a focus (i.e. major) on one of the following with a graduation date of August 2027 or later:
    • Engineering or Technology with supporting education or experience in business management.
    • Business Management with supporting education or experience in digital technology
    • Humanities or Communications with supporting education or experience in both business management and digital technology.
  • Excellent MS PowerPoint skills including an understanding of presentation process (storyboard to finished product and speaker notes).
  • Excellent MS Excel skills in the context of financial management including the corresponding ability to visualize interpret and report results.
  • Excellent communication skills written and oral. Writing skills include an ability to translate technical content into laymen terms consumable by senior executive readers.
  • A demonstrated interest in digital technology and innovation.

Not necessary but considered an asset:

  • Experience with executive/senior management communications e.g. workshops reporting to executives or communications to a broad external audience.
  • Experience or demonstrated familiarity with agile delivery methodologies
  • Interest or experience in strategy consulting marketing UX/UI design graphic design an asset.
  • Interest or experience in digital technology an asset Data & Analytics Cybersecurity Cloud Digital.
  • Interest or experience in financial services and/or finance background an asset.

The Base Pay range is for the primary location for which the job is posted for. The Base Pay which you will be considered for will vary depending on the Campus program you are selected for.


Eligible Sun Life employees for various Campus Graduate programs will also participate in various incentive plans payment under which is discretionary and subject to individual and company performance
