The HealthTech Engineering Associate Intern will work on collecting information for the Value Engineering team including review of component parameters supporting testing of product for verification gathering supply chain related data (cost price demand inventory etc) and creating documentation that would substantiate the choice of the new components. Will work under close supervision and receive detailed instructions on all work assignments. May work autonomously once proficiency in the tasks is achieved. May also be given more complex duties as proficiency is gained. This position will also provide exposure to the design of our customers products to gain valuable knowledge of how products are built and perform. This work will be done in the HealthTech division of Celestica and will include working with other aerospace companies who are either partners or customers of Celestica.

Preferred Skills:

• Comfortable working autonomously with minimal supervision.

• A self-starter well organized good time-management skills and detail-oriented.

• Experienced in managing organizing and securely sharing collaborative files and documents.

• Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to interface directly with Engineering Supply Chain outside Suppliers/Vendors and Manufacturing teams.

• Must be able to learn understand and apply new technologies.

• Highly adaptable with a strong desire to learn.

• Proficient in Google Workspace applications including Gmail Drive Sheets and Slides.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel PowerPoint Word) and Adobe Acrobat.

Activities:

• Interfacing with leading health tech companies and key industry stakeholders to evaluate state-of-the-art medical device technologies.

• Proactively acquiring deep technical knowledge in cutting-edge medtech advancements and emerging healthcare solutions.

• Interfacing with internal and external supplier chains to determine priority of components to investigate.

• Providing comparison data from similar components.

• Create tables and documents that justify the new selected components.

• Review design documentation to understand design intent.

• Support testing of components and/or end units (documentation only) for verification purposes.

• Generate proposals and 4UP charts

Physical Demands duties of this position are varied and will include:

• Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.

• Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data.

• Repetitive manual movements (e.g. data entry using a computer mouse using a calculator etc.) are frequently required.

The range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company and may change based on several factors including but not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting or the credentials experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate.

The hourly wage is determined by the years of study completed and is non-negotiable as per company policy.

Hourly Wage: $23-30 CAD/hr
