About the Opportunity

This Fall student opportunity is ideal for a motivated individual who is currently completing or has recently completed studies in information technology computer science software development information systems quality assurance or another related technical program. As a Student - Automation with the Automation team the successful candidate will gain hands-on experience supporting test automation and software quality activities in a collaborative environment. The role will provide exposure to automation frameworks API testing using Postman basic SQL Git/GitLab and practical software delivery practices that help support reliable efficient and high-quality application releases.

Role Overview

The Student - Automation will support the Automation team by assisting with the development maintenance and execution of automated test scripts. This role is a learning-focused opportunity where the student will help validate application functionality identify defects improve test coverage and contribute to activities that support the delivery of reliable and high-quality software.

The successful candidate should demonstrate:

• Foundational technical knowledge in areas such as Git/GitLab SQL basics and API testing with Postman

• Programming aptitude and an interest in learning test automation tools such as WebdriverIO

• Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail

• Growth mindset and openness to learning new tools including AI-assisted coding tools such as GitHub Copilot

• Communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with team members and cross-functional partners

As a Fall student you will work alongside experienced professionals contribute to real projects and gain practical experience that supports your academic learning and career development.

• Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a post-secondary program in Information Technology Computer Science Software Development Information Systems Quality Assurance or a related technical field.

The Base Pay range may vary depending on the successful candidate or other relevant job-related factors such as knowledge skills qualifications experience and education/ addition to Base Pay eligible Medavie employees may participate in various performance-based incentive programs.
