Structural Design Engineer
Job Summary
A leading Canadian engineering consulting firm is seeking a Structural Design Engineer to join its growing Structural team. The firm provides multidisciplinary services across structural engineering restoration capital planning building envelope mechanical electrical accessibility and energy optimization with a strong focus on collaboration and technical excellence.
You will work on institutional commercial and residential projects including both new builds and existing building assessments.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and analyze structural systems for new builds renovations and restoration projects
- Conduct assessments of existing buildings and develop engineering solutions
- Prepare structural calculations reports specifications and construction documents
- Conduct site reviews and provide construction-phase support
- Collaborate with architects contractors clients and internal teams
- Support project planning budgeting and delivery
- Participate in client meetings and maintain strong client relationships
- Mentor junior staff as needed
What You Bring
- Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering (Structural focus)
- 25 years of structural design experience in consulting
- Experience with institutional commercial or residential buildings
- Strong knowledge of structural design principles materials and codes
- Proficiency with ETABS S-Frame spSlab (or similar) and AutoCAD/Revit
- Valid drivers license and access to transportation
