Job Summary

Stress Engineer - Aeronautical Structures - Montreal Canada-0401-Direct Position

Mission: Within the framework of the STMO the mission of this person will be to carry out stress analyses dimensioning and reengineering of parts while ensuring that the weight and cost of these parts are minimized. He will also have to carry out related activities such as certification and justification files for a given aircraft perimeter according to the objectives and deadlines set and in compliance with customer requirements and certification requirements. The designers work will be as much at the primary structure level as at the system support level.

Primary Responsibilities:

- Review design to cost proposals and justify the structure accordingly.

- Apply load increases on existing structures and justify the load increase through mitigation by re-analysis.

- Write and maintain analysis summaries and various stress and certification reports.

- Receive input data from designers as well as client methods and tools and perform part justification studies from the pre-sizing stage to the preparation of justification and certification files.

- Apply loads to part concepts received from designers and work with them to find a solution in the event that the concepts are not able to support the loads.

- Generate finite element models required for part justification.

STMO Profile

Academic background: Bachelors degree in mechanical or aeronautical engineering.

Experience: 5 years of cumulative experience in primary steel structure design is required.

Special Requirements

- Have experience in calculations (Static and Fatigue Discrete Source Damage DTA) of primary and secondary structures. (Asset if additional experience in systems analysis).

- Have a good knowledge of strength of materials

- Knowledge of aeronautical certification standards

- Have a very good command of Patran/Nastran/Hypermesh and of the Office suite in particular Excel VBA

- Have a good command of CATIA V5/Enovia

- Experience working on the Airbus A220 or Global Express G7500 product line
