You will work with a variety of audiences including children and youth as you actively communicate and promote STEM through dynamic engaging Science North programs. Your primary role will be delivering high-quality programming on a number of STEM topics bringing science to life through demonstrations workshops and interactive programming (in Sudbury and on the road) while working alongside a collaborative team of passionate STEM professionals. If you have experience in program delivery are passionate about science either with a formal background or through life/work experience this may be the job for you!Key Responsibilities:Travel to Northern Ontario communities including Indigenous communities to deliver outreach experiences including visits to schools festivals fairs and partner locationsBe a key member of the STEM Engagement Unit supporting other programming initiativesEvaluate obtain and act on programming feedbackSupport the writing of scripts signage and content for programs and specialty workshops/showsProblem solve/anticipate needs/issues identify solutions and respond to client complaints/concernsAssist with inventories and maintenance of equipment materials & suppliesWhat you bring:Valid G drivers license reflecting a 3-year safe driving record(non-negotiable)Willingness and ability to travel extensively throughout Northern Ontario including winter roads evening and weekend workFormal background in a STEM field or equivalentexperienceDemonstrated organizational skillsA positive and fun attitude with demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a teamSuperior attention to detail and an aptitude for resourcefulnessExceptional communication skills possessing a high level of verbal and written proficiencyin Englishand French (non-negotiable)Excellent demonstrated program delivery skillsAbility to engage large crowds with science showsAbility to work independently often from external locationsCompensation Highlights:Full-time 18-month contract opportunityCompetitive salary starting at $39130 to $42000 per yearAnnual performance and merit increase considerationFlexible work arrangementsOptional participation extended health dental and vision benefits (50% employer-paid) following 6 monthsScience North annual family membershipFree or discounted admission to other attractions outside Sudbury Science North facilities and program discounts fitness membership contributionFree on-site parkingDont meet every single requirementAt Science North we are dedicated to building a diverse inclusive and authentic workplace so if youre excited about this role but your past experience doesnt align perfectly with every qualification in the job description we encourage you to apply anyways.
