We have an opportunity for a Referral and Stakeholder Relations Specialist (Business Development) to support our innovative and purpose-driven team on a full time basis.

WHAT YOU WILL DO
Reporting to the National Director Business Development and Marketing you will support the effective coordination and implementation of The Newlys referral pathways funder relationships and Business Development initiatives. Working closely with Business Development Operations Clinic Leadership Administration and clinical teams you will help ensure established referral channels and new opportunities are translated into practical effective workflows across the organization.
You will also serve as a key point of contact for selected funders and referral partners supporting ongoing communication referral coordination issue resolution and relationship maintenance. Your work will strengthen relationships support seamless referral coordination and advance innovative service delivery across The Newly.
Accountabilities
Referral Management & Coordination
- Manage referrals requiring centralized cross-clinic virtual or cross-regional support including referrals in regions where The Newly does not have an established physical clinic.
- Support referral pathways that do not fall within routine clinic operations including referrals from funders insurers employers and other external partners.
- Facilitate referrals requiring clinicians to provide services across clinics disciplines or provincial jurisdictions ensuring effective communication among the teams involved.
- Facilitate communication between funders referral sources clinicians clinic teams administration and operations.
- Respond to inquiry calls and referral inquiries across locations as required.
Monitor referral progress and identify issues or barriers requiring follow-up or escalation.
Funder & Relationship Management
- Serve as a designated point of contact for selected funders referral partners and other stakeholders supporting ongoing communication and relationship management.
- Maintain regular communication with assigned funders and referral partners including participating in meetings and follow-up related to referral volumes service delivery processes and emerging needs.
- Respond to funder and stakeholder inquiries and facilitate appropriate internal follow-up and resolution.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with funders referral partners clinicians clinic teams and internal stakeholders to support effective referral pathways and service delivery.
- Maintain and report on referral and Business Development data including referral volumes referral sources funder activity and conversion trends to support decision-making and identify opportunities or emerging issues.
- Identify opportunities to improve the referral experience service coordination and ongoing relationships with funders and referral partners.
- Escalate significant relationship issues opportunities or concerns to the National Director Business Development.
Business Development Implementation
- Support the implementation and operationalization of new referral channels services and Business Development opportunities.
- Translate new business opportunities into practical referral workflows processes service requirements and internal responsibilities.
- Coordinate implementation activities across Operations Clinic Leadership Administration and clinical teams to ensure new opportunities are effectively launched and supported.
- Support the development and communication of funder-specific referral processes service requirements reporting expectations and workflows.
- Assist with staff education and communication when new referral sources services or processes are introduced.
- Monitor newly implemented referral channels and services identifying operational issues opportunities for improvement and ongoing support needs.
Support approved Business Development marketing and online presence initiatives including website social media digital advertising and referral pathway information.
Emerging Market Support
- Support referral activity and service delivery in emerging markets and jurisdictions that do not clearly fall within an existing clinics operational structure.
- Support the establishment and ongoing coordination of referral pathways in new jurisdictions as The Newly expands its geographic footprint.
- Facilitate communication and coordination between funders clinicians clinic teams and internal stakeholders when services are delivered across geographic or provincial boundaries.
- Identify operational requirements coordination needs and potential barriers associated with expanding referral and service delivery into new jurisdictions.
Work collaboratively with Business Development and Operations to support the transition of emerging referral activity into sustainable operational processes as new markets develop.
Other responsibilities related to the role and scope of work may be assigned.
WHAT YOU BRING
Experience
- Three to five years of experience in mental health care referral management funder relations stakeholder relations business development support healthcare operations or a related field.
- Strong understanding of mental health service delivery and the ability to communicate confidently with clinicians and external stakeholders.
- Experience coordinating the implementation of new programs services processes or referral pathways.
- Strong relationship-building skills and the ability to work collaboratively with internal and external partners.
- Excellent communication organization follow-up and problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working with data referral tracking reporting and process improvement.
Assets
- Experience working with funders insurers workers compensation boards healthcare providers employers or other referral partners.
- A clinical designation or professional background in a regulated health profession particularly within mental health rehabilitation or allied health.
- Project management certification such as PMP or CAPM.
Education
- Post-secondary education in healthcare administration business health services communications or a related field; equivalent experience may be considered.
Technical Competences
Proficiency with Microsoft Word Excel Teams Outlook and relevant healthcare or referral management systems.
