Compensation Details:

Fin. Product Innovation 16: Salaries typically range from $74297 to $99063 annually based on qualifications and experiences plus a performance-based incentive.

Fin. Product Innovation 17: Salaries typically range from $84698 to $112931 annually based on qualifications and experiences plus a performance-based incentive.

Location:

Export Development Canada operates in a hybrid work environment with a current requirement of two in-office days per week increasing to three days per week in September 2026 (subject to change).

This role can be performed from EDCs headquarters in Ottawa.

Relocation assistance is available for candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.

Team Overview:

The Financial Product & Innovation (FPI) team is focused on holistic product management that aligns financial products to business strategy and strategic shifts; driving innovation to ensure EDC delivers products that are valuable to customers partners and EDC; championing the product function and customer-centered product design principles; and providing strategic direction from a product perspective.

To provide relevant compelling solutions that create impact for Canadas international trade FPIs core Product Suite Management function strategically manages the entire suite of EDCs financial products and encompasses three (3) key services: Product Strategy Enablement Product Development and Product Lifecycle Management. These services require a balance of strategic thinking understanding the bigger picture customer needs and cross-functional collaboration.

The Senior Associate / Innovation Lead contributes to FPIs mandate by supporting the consistent application of product management best practices and contributing to insights and analyses that inform product decisions across assigned products or initiatives.

What you will be doing:

Product Lifecycle Management

Contribute to tracking and analyzing product performance usage and trends using internal and external data to support assessments of product effectiveness relevance and alignment with business strategy

Contribute to structured and deep product level reviews by conducting detailed analysis and research to identify insights related to performance customer and end-user needs market trends and competitive landscape

Support the identification and assessment of product enhancements repositioning retirement options including analysis of risks impacts and trade-offs

Product Strategy Enablement

Contribute to product discovery and innovation ideas including hypothesis development market scanning and validation of customer needs

Support product strategy discussions by helping develop forwardlooking analyses options and recommendations for assigned products or initiatives.

Contribute to insights and analysis across products to support prioritization and alignment with team and business objectives.

Product Development

Contribute to gathering and articulating the requirements to formulate product parameters and operational implementation ensuring operational/business readiness and scalability

Support the evaluation of UX pricing risk profiles and customer needs to design improvements for new and/or existing products

Support launch readiness and go-to-market planning including objectives activities and success measures.

Risk Governance & Decision Support

Support identification and documentation of risks issues dependencies and constraints associated with product initiatives and lifecycle decisions

Apply established policies standards and frameworks in day-to-day product management activities

Contribute to the governance of productfocused tools and artefacts ensuring quality consistency and alignment with corporate standards.

Stakeholder Collaboration & Customer Focus

Collaborate with internal stakeholders across business technology risk legal and partner teams to support product management and initiatives

Ability to communicate with stakeholders at different levels of the organization and tailor presentations of analyses and recommendations to various audiences

Bring customer insights and market feedback into product discussions to support data-informed recommendations.

What we are looking for:

Undergraduate degree in Commerce Business Administration Finance Marketing or another related field.

Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in product management product development innovation solution delivery or financial services.

Knowledge of financial products and international trade.

Strong analytical & research skills with the ability to translate insights into recommendations.

Customer-centric mindset and ability to collaborate in a cross-functional environment.

What will make you stand out:

Bilingual in both official languages (English and French).

MBA or other relevant graduate degree; CPA CFA or other professional designation.

Product management or innovation certifications or exposure to product management frameworks discovery techniques or delivery methodologies.

Experience in financial services innovation public sector or internationally focused organizations.
