Position Summary

The Sr. Analyst Enterprise IT VMO is a senior individual contributor within McKesson Technologys Vendor Management Office Operational Excellence & Governance division. The role is responsible for leading VMO workstreams independently and driving governance analytics contract management performance management relationship management risk management financial management activities and process improvement across McKessons technology vendor portfolio. This role serves as a subject matter expert (SME) and day-to-day lead across vendor ecosystem and contracts while actively mentoring junior analysts and contributing to the continuous development of VMO methodology tools and standards. The Senior Analyst partners with Service Area stakeholders Sr. Vendor Managers executive leadership Finance legal procurement and third-party leadership to deliver commercially rigorous outcomes to and ensure the VMO operates as a high-performing governance function and vendors are accountable for performance value for money and quality.

Key Responsibilities

Workstream Leadership Risk Management & Governance

• Lead assigned VMO workstreams end-to-end including governance cadences issue resolution and stakeholder coordination with junior analysts supporting execution.

• Lead the commercial review and revision of statements of work contract amendments formal letters and correspondence and other vendor agreements; identify and mitigate cost schedule performance contractual and reputational risk and develop provisions that strengthen accountability improve efficiency and maximize value for the organization.

• Lead quarterly business reviews (QBRs) and recurring vendor governance meetings across assigned portfolios; develop and present vendor scorecards Power BI dashboards and performance insights and drive the identification escalation and closure of issues risks decisions and corrective actions.

• Own vendor performance monitoring across assigned portfolios track KPIs and SLAs drive corrective action plans and report outcomes to MT leadership.

• Lead vendor assessments and governance reviews; develop findings recommendations and improvement initiatives with measurable outcomes.

• Lead vendor risk management across assigned portfolios by identifying emerging contractual commercial financial operational compliance and concentration risks; assess potential business impacts and recommend mitigation escalation or corrective action to VMO and Service Area leadership

• Serve as a primary VMO point of contact for Service Area stakeholders and VMO Sr. Managers on complex vendor and contractual matters.

• Ensure vendor compliance with McKesson policies contractual obligations and applicable regulatory requirements across assigned workstreams.

Analytics Reporting & Forecasting

• Develop and own weekly and monthly VMO reporting packages KPI dashboards invoice status resource demand forecasts ensuring accuracy and timeliness for MT leadership consumption.

• Lead demand and capacity forecasting at portfolio level collaborating with Service Area stakeholders and third-party leadership to surface risks and opportunities.

• Apply advanced financial analytics to identify commercial risks (budget variance schedule quality) and produce actionable recommendations for senior stakeholders.

• Design and maintain reporting templates tracking tools and analytical frameworks that improve VMO data quality and operational visibility.

• Synthesize complex vendor and financial data into clear executive-ready presentations; present findings and recommendations to senior MT leadership.

Invoice & Financial Management

• Oversee invoice-management activities across assigned portfolios including validation controls reconciliation set-off items variable fee tracking approval tracking exception resolution and timely payment.

• Oversee purchasing and procurement activities within the VMO including purchase order creation and vendor agreement administration.

• Maintain accurate records within VMO systems of record (e.g. SAP Fieldglass Ariba Workday) to ensure data integrity across financial and operational reporting.

Process Improvement & VMO Methodology

• Identify gaps in VMO processes governance frameworks and tooling; develop and implement improvements that strengthen operational consistency and control.

• Build and maintain standard operating procedures playbooks and governance templates that codify VMO best practices.

• Lead or contribute to VMO system and tool enhancements including requirements definition testing and adoption.

• Assess the commercial and operational implications of new processes systems or vendor arrangements prior to implementation.

• Drive continuous improvement initiatives across invoice management demand management and vendor performance workstreams.

Mentorship Coaching & Team Development

• Mentor and coach Analyst-level VMO team members providing guidance on analytical techniques governance processes and stakeholder communication.

• Review and quality-assure reporting and analytical deliverables produced by analysts before distribution to leadership.

• Support onboarding of new VMO team members sharing institutional knowledge and established VMO practices.

• Contribute to a culture of accountability continuous learning and delivery excellence within the VMO.

Stakeholder Collaboration

• Build and maintain productive working relationships with internal teams including Finance legal procurement and MT leadership.

• Lead or support vendor negotiations commercial discussions and issue escalations within assigned portfolios.

• Represent the VMO in cross-functional forums operational planning cycles and enterprise-level initiatives as required.

• Assist with enterprise-related projects and VMO initiatives as required.

Required Qualifications

• 5 years of progressive experience in vendor management commercial/contract management IT procurement sourcing supply chain operations or a related field with demonstrated growth in scope and complexity.

• Demonstrated experience independently leading IT vendor contract governance workstreams commercial initiatives or procurement activities within a large or complex organization.

• Demonstrated commercial and business acumen with the judgment to evaluate complex vendor contractual financial and operational issues balance competing priorities and recommend practical risk-informed efficient courses of action.

• Experience and proficiency in VMS and procurement platforms: Fieldglass Beeline Ariba and/or Workday required.

• Solid understanding of IT and technology vendor environments IT contracts and commercial/legal terms including staffing managed services professional services and application development supplier models.

• Advanced Excel skills with strong proficiency in PowerPoint; ability to produce polished executive-ready deliverables.

• Excellent written and oral communication skills with demonstrated ability to present complex findings to senior leadership audiences.

• Experience with demand and capacity planning financial analysis and commercial risk identification in a technology delivery context.

• Bachelors degree in Business Administration Social Sciences Finance Computer Science Information Technology or a related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Preferred Qualifications

• Direct experience working within a Vendor Management Office (VMO) in a large enterprise technology organization.

• Experience mentoring or guiding junior team members in an analytical or governance function.

• Familiarity with enterprise application portfolios (e.g. SAP Workday) and the vendor ecosystems that support large-scale technology transformations.

• Experience identifying and implementing cost savings or avoidance opportunities and initiatives either through vendor consolidation procurement strategies contract term and conditions changes or audit/review activities.

• Experience contributing to or leading process improvement initiatives including SOP development and governance framework design.

• Demonstrated change leadership capability effective stakeholder communication risk identification and negotiation of successful outcomes.

• Working knowledge of contract structures SLA frameworks and commercial governance in IT vendor agreements.
