The Solution Designer with a data focus is responsible for architecting and designing end-to-end data solutions that align with business objectives and technology strategies. This role involves translating business requirements into scalable data architectures selecting appropriate technologies and ensuring robust integration of data systems across the organization.
- Design and architect comprehensive data solutions to meet business and technical requirements
- Collaborate with business stakeholders data engineers developers and analysts to understand requirements and translate them into detailed solution designs
- Develop logical and physical data models data flow diagrams and integration architectures
- Evaluate and recommend data platforms tools and technologies (with an emphasis on cloud solutions such as Azure Databricks Data Lake and Synapse)
- Ensure data solutions are secure scalable and compliant with data governance and regulatory standards
- Create and maintain solution documentation including architecture diagrams data mappings and interface specifications
- Oversee the implementation of data solutions providing guidance and technical leadership to delivery teams
- Conduct design reviews and ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards
- Support troubleshooting and optimization of existing data solutions
- Strong knowledge of data modeling ETL/ELT processes and data warehousing concepts
- Hands-on experience with Azure data services (e.g. Databricks Data Lake Synapse Data Factory)
- Proficiency in designing data integration and data pipeline solutions
- Understanding of data governance security and compliance frameworks
- Excellent communication documentation and stakeholder engagement skills
- Ability to lead technical discussions and drive consensus across diverse teams
- Experience in financial services or other regulated industries
- Familiarity with machine learning workflows and advanced analytics platforms
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices
- Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
- Certification in Azure architecture or data-related domains (preferred)
- Extensive experience in solution design or architecture with a focus on data platforms and systems
