Job Summary
Social Work Director
Lethbridge Family Service operating as Lethbridge Family Services (LFS) is seeking a Social Work Director for our Counselling Outreach and Education department. This senior-level roles purpose is to represent Counselling Outreach & Education on the Lethbridge Family Services leadership team; to ensure that services provided meet all accreditation standards contractual obligations and organization policies and procedures; to provide clinical social work supervision and guidance to clinical staff; to provide clinical social work services to select clients to co-lead select therapy groups and represent the programs and organization in the community as part of addressing community needs.

The Social Work Director:
Direct and evaluate the delivery of social and community service programs.
Develop plan organize and manage the delivery of social and community service programs services and activities.
Direct advise and supervise social workers and other staff: communicate job expectations to develop positive worker outcomes plan monitor and assess job results conduct annual performance evaluations provide coaching or progressive discipline to improve job performance.
Recruit interview hire and train new workers.
Organize new worker onboarding and orientations.
Assist with the coordination of special events planning coordination development implementation and evaluation of all events.
Support workers on wellbeing-related matters workloads or other worker concerns and situations negatively impacting worker wellbeing.
Respond to crisis situations and resolve conflict situations.
Prepare and submit reports that contribute to policy development.
Assess social and community service program strengths and identify areas for improvements.
Participate in policy development by preparing reports and briefs for management committees and working groups.
Ensure that client services are delivered consistently and seamlessly and within budget controls.
Ensure that services are provided in a manner that respects diversity and inclusion.
Investigate incidents and concerns; identify implement and monitor appropriate corrective actions.
Protect the health and safety of clients and workers communicate hazards monitor compliance with safety procedures and legislative requirements report all safety concerns and incidents.
Team contributions
Leads by example. I.e. Co-facilitating select group therapy. Developing new clinical services. Participating in team clinical social work discussions.
Works collaboratively and effectively as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
Keeps aligned and focused on vision strategy and execution priorities.
Contributes to the strategic direction of the organization.
Ensure that quality services are delivered
Ensures that all services provided to clients are clinically sound
Ensures compliance with accreditation standards contractual obligations and organization policies and procedures.
Oversees the development/revisions of department Standard Operating Procedures as required.
Oversees the continuous quality improvement program for the department.
Ensures that the software used by the department is adequate to meet its needs

Budget
Works with the Finance Manager/Director to prepare and oversee the annual budget for each program.
Participate in contract negotiations with government funders and third-party sources.
Monitor revenue and expenses to be in line with set budgets.
Oversee collection of monthly invoices for all funding sources and private clients; monitor accounts and delegate collection procedures.
Marketing and advocacy activities for the department
Assume a leadership role in the marketing and advocacy pertinent to the Counselling Outreach and Education Departments services within the community/region.
Provide leadership and assist in the maintenance of current information regarding local regional provincial and national developments/trends in Attend and actively participate in interagency committee meetings as appropriate to the department.
Participate in media interviews and press conferences.
Supervision
In the absence of the clinical supervisor provide clinical social work supervision to counsellors
Supervise 11-15 people
Required skills and qualifications:
a masters degree in social work psychology or other relevant discipline
Licensing as a social worker with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW);
at least five years of experience at the management level
demonstrated expertise in providing clinical supervision
Language: English
Excellent communication skills
police information check and vulnerable sector check dated not less than 6 months prior to the date of hire.
Hours: Regular Full-Time 35 hours per week Monday-Friday 8:30am-4:30pm
Wage: $85000 to $120000 annually to be negotiated based on experience
