Job Summary
As a member of the Marketing Team the Social Media Coordinator supports Old Yale Brewings social media and content initiatives across digital platforms. This role is responsible for assisting with the planning creation and execution of engaging brand content while helping maintain a consistent and authentic online presence.
This is a hands-on creative role ideal for someone looking to grow their experience in content creation social media and digital marketing. The Social Media Coordinator works closely with the Marketing Manager and broader Marketing Team to support campaigns community engagement and brand storytelling across multiple channels.
This position reports to the Marketing Manager and collaborates with the extended Old Yale Brewing team.
Responsibilities
Content Creation & Social Media Management
Manage Old Yale Brewings social media channels (Instagram TikTok Facebook X) across multiple brand accounts (BC & AB)
Create edit and publish engaging photo and video content including Reels TikToks Stories and static posts
Support the development and maintenance of content calendars aligned with campaigns promotions and brand priorities
Stay up to date on social media trends platform updates and best practices while contributing creative content ideas
Write captions and social copy that reflect Old Yale Brewings tone and brand voice
Collaborate with external content creators influencers photographers and videographers as needed
Assist with community engagement by responding to comments and messages in a timely and brand-aligned manner
Own and execute all social media channels (Instagram TikTok Facebook X) across multiple brand accounts (BC & AB)
Brand & Marketing Support
Help maintain consistency in Old Yale Brewings visual identity tone and messaging across digital channels
Support copywriting needs across blogs website updates email marketing and other digital channels
Assist with broader marketing initiatives including campaigns product launches promotions and events
Collaborate with internal teams and external partners to support marketing initiatives and activations
Attend events and on-site activations as needed to capture content and support execution
Maintain awareness of liquor laws and regulations to ensure marketing efforts remain compliant
Contribute to a positive collaborative team environment
Roll up your sleeves and do whats necessary to get the job done and complete other duties as required within the same scope and level
Performance & Growth
Assist with tracking and reporting on social media and content performance including engagement reach and audience growth
Use insights and analytics to help improve future content and identify opportunities for engagement
Support ongoing efforts to grow Old Yale Brewings online community and brand presence
Qualifications
1 year of experience in social media content creation marketing or a similar role
Post-secondary diploma or degree in Marketing Communications Business or an equivalent combination of education training and experience
Experience creating photo and video content for social media and digital platforms considered an asset
Understanding of Instagram Tiktok Facebook and emerging platforms
Experience with Later Squarespace and Mailchimp considered to be an asset
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite Canva and mobile editing apps considered to be an asset
Strong copywriting and storytelling skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office
Highly organized with strong time management and ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities
Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to brand consistency
Positive collaborative approach to work and ability to function effectively as part of a team
Serving it Right certification or ability and willingness to obtain one
HOURS AND TRAVEL
Some travel is required for this role with adequate notice. Travel may include attending events and visiting our restaurant locations in Abbotsford BC and Beaumont AB. This is a permanent full-time position at 40 hours per week typically Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend or evening work may be required to support specific events.
