Parkside Ground Maintenance is a Calgary-based commercial grounds and snow services company specializing in exterior maintenance for condo corporations HOAs and multi-family communities across Calgary and the surrounding area. Were built on consistent service clearly defined scopes and professional follow-through crews that show up when expected and keep properties clean safe and well-managed through every season. Our work spans ground maintenance snow removal and ice control landscape enhancements and site exterior services.

Position Summary

Were looking for hardworking reliable Sidewalk Technicians to join our snow and ice this role youll keep sidewalks entrances walkways and common areas safe and accessible at the condo and multi-family properties we service across Calgary. This is an on-call seasonal position that responds to snow and ice events as they happen including early mornings late nights and weekends.

No snow experience No problem well train the right person. What matters most is dependability a strong work ethic and a willingness to work in Alberta winter conditions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Clear snow from sidewalks entrances walkways stairs and parking areas using shovels snow blowers and walk-behind power brooms
  • Apply salt and de-icing materials to prevent ice buildup and keep walkways safe
  • Respond to snow and ice events as they occur early mornings late nights and weekends (this is an on-call 24/7 position through the winter season)
  • Stay current with weather forecasts and be ready to mobilize on short notice
  • Follow site-specific service scopes and document work as required

What Were Looking For

  • Valid Class 5 Alberta drivers licence (required)
  • Reliable transportation to get to work each shift
  • Willingness to work long days early mornings and a variable schedule based on client needs
  • Comfortable working outdoors in cold and winter conditions
  • Dependable punctual and safety-minded
  • Able to work as part of a crew and take direction

Assets Nice to Have

  • Previous snow removal experience (an asset not a requirement well train the right person)
  • Experience operating snow blowers or walk-behind power brooms

Physical Requirements

This is a physically demanding outdoor role. You should be able to:

  • Regularly lift and manipulate loads of at least 44 lbs (20 kg)
  • Stand walk bend shovel and stay on your feet for extended periods
  • Work outdoors in cold snow and variable weather

Compensation & Schedule

  • Starting wage: $21.00 per hour
  • Guaranteed minimum 70 hours per month during the winter season
  • On-call 24 hours / 7 days per week through winter shifts are driven by snow and ice events
  • Shift days and times vary with weather and client needs; long days and early mornings should be expected
