Short Order Cook
Job Summary
The House of Commons Parliamentary Precinct Operations is currently looking to staff the Short Order Cook position.
This recruitment and selection process is restricted to employees working within Parliamentary Precinct Operations at the House of Commons Administration.
In this position you will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of foods that require only a short preparation time. This includes cooking or reheating Daily Specials for Cafeterias taking orders from customers and serving clients at food stations.
More specifically you take and prepare all orders customized to guests requirements for the assigned station complies with standardized recipes and in pre-determined quantity as per instructions received from the Supervisors Cafeteria PDR and Catering Services.
The purpose of this posting is to staff the position of Short Order Cook on an indeterminate basis and to create a pool of candidates for anticipatory staffing for seasonal on-call and determinate opportunities. The hourly rate is $23.65 - $29.92.
**For seasonal on-call basis the hours of work can vary between 15 to 35 hours. The needs are determined according to the parliamentary sessions. Work periods are from mid-September to mid-December late January to late June. Operational requirements are interrupted during the summer months and between parliamentary sessions.

Qualifications :
Education:
High school diploma OR an acceptable combination of education training and relevant experience.
Experiences:
Experience in short order preparation and fast cooking techniques in a restaurant or a cafeteria;
Experience interacting directly and regularly with clients.
Assets:
Completion of a basic health and safety course and certification under the Food Safety Enhancement Program (FSEP).
