Senior Municipal Engineer

WaterSMART Solutions A Hazen Company is seeking a Senior Municipal Engineer to join our Calgary Alberta office. This seniorlevel role will lead and support a wide range of municipal drinking water and wastewater projects from early planning and feasibility through detailed design construction and operational support.

The successful candidate will serve as a technical and project management leader working directly with municipal clients collaborating with multidisciplinary teams mentoring junior staff and contributing to business development efforts across Alberta and Western Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage municipal drinking water and wastewater projects through all phases of delivery including planning studies design construction and commissioning
• Provide technical leadership in treatment process selection development of design criteria and preparation of engineering deliverables
• Manage project scope schedules budgets and quality to meet client expectations
• Coordinate directly with municipal clients regulators and project stakeholders
• Collaborate with internal technical specialists and multidisciplinary design teams
• Support proposal development and business development initiatives
• Supervise mentor and support the development of junior engineering staff
• Monitor project progress and recommend adjustments to achieve project objectives

Required Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering; Masters degree an asset
• Professional Engineer (.) licensed in Alberta or eligible for registration
• Legally able to work in Canada
• 12 years of experience delivering municipal drinking water and/or wastewater projects; experience working with Alberta municipal clients and regulatory agencies preferred
• Demonstrated experience managing complex multidisciplinary engineering projects
• Strong project management organizational and leadership skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present complex technical concepts to nontechnical audiences
• Proficiency with MS Office and standard engineering software
• Selfmotivated detailoriented and clientfocused
