Job Summary
Position Description:
Location: Scarborough Ontario (on site 5 days a week)
Reporting to the Lead Manager Information Technology the Senior Modern Workplace Engineering Specialist is responsible for supporting the delivery optimization maintenance administration and security of the organizations enterprise modern workplace environment. This role provides professional technical operational and analytical IT workplace services and solutions across Microsoft 365 endpoint management identity and access management collaboration platforms compliance security end-user computing (EUC) and onsite workplace support services.
The Senior Modern Workplace Engineering Specialist acts as a senior technical subject matter expert (SME) and escalation resource for Microsoft 365 technologies and enterprise endpoint management platforms. The role is responsible for planning designing implementing configuring maintaining securing supporting and troubleshooting workplace technologies in coordination with the IT team business stakeholders and external vendors.
This position participates in workplace transformation initiatives operational excellence Microsoft 365 governance and compliance initiatives digital employee experience improvements and onsite end-user computing support activities.

Responsible for supporting optimizing and securing the enterprise Modern Workplace environment acting as a senior SME across Microsoft 365 endpoint management and identity services.
Key responsibilities include:
Administering and optimizing Microsoft 365 (Exchange Teams SharePoint OneDrive Purview Entra ID) including governance security and compliance
Managing endpoint environments using Intune SCCM/MECM Autopilot and MDM/MAM (device lifecycle patching application deployment)
Supporting identity and access management (AD Entra ID Conditional Access MFA GPOs hybrid environments)
Ensuring endpoint security and compliance (Defender security baselines vulnerability management)
Providing technical support troubleshooting and escalation for workplace technologies
Developing automation (PowerShell) and driving continuous improvement initiatives
Collaborating with internal teams and vendors on operations incidents and transformation projects
Maintaining documentation standards and operational procedures
Required qualifications to be successful in this role:
College diploma or Bachelors degree in Computer Science System Administration Engineering or equivalent experience.
7 years in enterprise IT including 5 years with SCCM patching and endpoint management
57 years as an SME in Microsoft 365 Intune Entra ID and Purview
Strong experience in endpoint engineering identity management security and M365 governance
Proficiency in PowerShell and automation; experience in hybrid/cloud environments
Familiarity with ITIL practices enterprise transformations and Zero Trust principles
Microsoft certifications (M365 Security Azure Endpoint) are strong assets
Profile
Strong communication collaboration and stakeholder engagement skills
Analytical organized and able to manage multiple priorities in fast-paced environments
Customer-focused with a strong service mindset
Able to act as a trusted technical advisor and Microsoft 365 SME
Experience in professional services or legal environments considered an asset
CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level geographic market experience and training and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $80000$130000. This role is an existing vacancy.
