Job Summary
Location: Edmonton Alberta (Remote within Alberta Occasional Onsite Meetings)
Duration: 12 Months (Contract)
- Monday to Friday
- Standard Hours: 08:15 AM 04:30 PM (Alberta Time)
- Remote role with periodic onsite meetings (34 times/month as needed)
A leading public sector organization is seeking an experienced Senior IT Project Manager to lead and deliver multiple Cloud Microsoft 365 and Artificial Intelligence initiatives.
This role involves end-to-end project ownershipfrom planning and analysis through execution and deliverywhile ensuring alignment with organizational objectives governance frameworks and enterprise architecture standards.
- Lead the planning execution and delivery of multiple IT projects
- Develop project charters business cases and detailed project plans
- Manage project scope timelines budgets risks and resources
- Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to define objectives requirements and success criteria
- Oversee project governance reporting and stakeholder communications
- Identify dependencies risks and mitigation strategies
- Ensure solutions align with enterprise architecture and compliance standards
- Coordinate across cross-functional teams including Cloud AI and M365 services
- Provide leadership in change management communication and user acceptance testing (UAT)
- Track progress and deliver regular updates to leadership and steering committees
- Drive continuous improvement and contribute to project management best practices
- Proven experience as a Senior IT Project Manager managing complex multi-stream projects
- Strong background in Cloud platforms Microsoft 365 or AI-related initiatives
- Experience working within IT infrastructure environments (hardware software applications)
- Solid understanding of project governance risk management and delivery frameworks
- Experience with Change Management and UAT processes
- Excellent communication stakeholder management and leadership skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects and work both independently and collaboratively
- Familiarity with enterprise IT environments and architecture
- Understanding of business processes policies and data requirements
- Experience in project planning tools and reporting frameworks
- Knowledge of public sector or large enterprise environments is an asset
- Must be able to work within Alberta (remote) due to data security requirements
- Availability for occasional onsite meetings with stakeholders and leadership teams
- Contractor must provide their own computer and work equipment compatible with remote access tools
- Background check required prior to onboarding
- Completion of mandatory training upon joining
