Senior Estimator

Overview:
A well-established Western Canada civil contractor is hiring a Senior Estimator to lead the estimating team and partner with senior leadership on bidding strategy and proposal development. Responsibilities

• Lead the estimating team through the full bid cycle from monitoring bid sites and leads to tender submission
• Oversee detailed cost estimates (labor materials overheads) across unit price lump sum T&M and conceptual contracts
• Complete quantity take-offs and review scope for gaps/overlaps before issuing to subcontractors
• Evaluate subcontractor/vendor pricing qualifications and market trends
• Assess tender risk/quality before committing to bid; develop mitigation and proposal terms
• Coordinate proposal packages clarifications and site visits with stakeholders
• Develop estimating processes/standards; mentor direct reports
• Prepare turnover packages and support project kick-offs

Requirements

• 3 years managing an estimating team for civil scopes; underground utility experience preferred
• Strong RFQ-to-award process experience negotiation and plan-reading skills
• Proficient in Excel MS Project Adobe
• Strong leadership communication and organizational skills
