Fullscript is looking for an experienced Senior Backend Engineer to join the infrastructure team responsible for the long-term health scalability and developer experience of Fullscripts core application.
Our team enables fast reliable product development by defining and upholding engineering standards for quality scalability and maintainability. We take on foundational upgrades cross-team technical work and infrastructure projects that help product teams move quickly without compromising the stability of the platform.
Our team cares about doing things well. That means improving the systems developers work in every day reducing friction modernizing our stack and making thoughtful technical decisions that support Fullscripts long-term growth.
What youll do
- Own and improve the long-term technical health of our monorepo
- Plan out solution designs and release strategies in collaboration with other engineering teams and stakeholders
- Lead foundational upgrades across the stack
- Improve code quality application structure maintainability and engineering standards
- Address scalability reliability and performance concerns as the product grows
- Resolve security vulnerabilities across the application and its dependencies
- Build and maintain shared developer tooling CI linting and quality-of-life improvements
- Maintain and evolve shared infrastructure such as feature flags end-to-end tests and infrastructure-as-code within the monolith
- Support product teams by solving cross-cutting technical issues
- Act as a multiplier by unblocking other teams and improving the systems they rely on
- Contribute through implementation code review technical guidance mentorship and documentation
What you bring to the table
- Strong experience with Ruby or Ruby on Rails
- You are a passionate software engineer who cares about your craft and serving other developers as your end users.
- You are excited to learn lead projects and want to produce the best work possible.
- Experience designing maintainable systems and making pragmatic technical tradeoffs
- Strong testing habits and an understanding of how tests support long-term maintainability
- Comfort working on platform infrastructure tooling or developer experience problems
- A desire to improve engineering standards across teams
- Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate across engineering teams
- A willingness to learn ask questions and receive feedback
Bonus if you have
- Experience scaling or working on high-scale web applications
- Past experience working in e-commerce or health tech sector
- Youve worked with React or GraphQL in the past
- Experience improving CI systems test suites feature flag systems or developer tooling

Compensation range
The salary range for this role is between $125000 and $165000 CAD. Fullscript shares salary ranges to support transparency and help candidates make informed decisions. The range shown reflects base salary only and does not include stock options wellness stipends or other benefits that are part of Fullscripts total rewards package.
Final compensation depends on experience skills and location. We review pay regularly to stay aligned with market data and internal equity. Benefits and total rewards may vary by region.
