Senior Consultant, Infrastructure Cost & Commercial (Estimating)

Who are you

You are a seasoned Senior Estimator who specializes in infrastructure cost estimating with a minimum of 8 years of post-graduate experience and are looking for the next step in your career or currently undertaking a comparable role in a similar environment.

You are motivated to join a growing and dynamic team and bring strong technical expertise commercial awareness and a collaborative approach to project delivery. You thrive in a client-facing environment enjoy solving complex estimating challenges and are passionate about delivering high-quality outcomes.

The ideal candidate is self-motivated driven and capable of working both independently and as part of a high-performing this impactful role you will provide cost estimating expertise and advisory services while contributing to the delivery of major infrastructure programs and helping clients make informed investment and project decisions.

This position is ideally suited to an ambitious estimator seeking to further develop their expertise across cost estimating cost assurance risk analysis commercial advisory and project governance. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on complex and high-profile infrastructure projects collaborate with experienced industry professionals and broaden their experience across a variety of sectors and delivery models.

Job Description

• Deliver cost assessments reviews and assurance services including the preparation and presentation of independent estimates cost plans benchmarks and reconciliations.
• Support the validation and challenge process of contractor estimates target costs/prices and commercial submissions particularly within collaborative delivery models such as Progressive Design-Build (PDB) CMAR and CMGC.
• Prepare and review estimates throughout various stages of project development from business case and concept design through detailed design procurement and delivery.
• Support estimating uncertainty analysis and quantitative risk assessment activities as part of target cost validation and project cost assurance.
• Contribute to value engineering and cost optimization initiatives to support informed decision-making and value-for-money outcomes.
• Develop and maintain estimating databases benchmarks and cost models for major infrastructure projects.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary project teams clients designers contractors and other stakeholders to ensure robust and defensible cost outcomes.
• Assist in the development of junior estimators by sharing technical knowledge best practices and estimating methodologies.
• Prepare technical reports presentations and cost advice for internal and external stakeholders.
• Maintain awareness of market conditions industry trends and emerging estimating practices within the infrastructure sector.

Qualifications :

• Degree in Quantity Surveying Civil Engineering Construction Management Engineering or a related discipline.
• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in infrastructure estimating cost management cost planning or cost assurance on major capital projects.
• Demonstrated experience across transportation aviation transit highways utilities or other large-scale infrastructure sectors.
• Strong understanding of project development and delivery processes including collaborative and alternative delivery models such as PDB CMAR CMGC and Design-Build.
• Experience preparing reviewing and validating estimates across different project phases and levels of design maturity.
• Knowledge of risk-based estimating techniques benchmarking methodologies and cost assurance practices.
• Professional designation or membership (CIQS RICS AACE or equivalent) is preferred or working towards certification.
• Proficiency in industry-standard estimating software cost databases benchmarking tools and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong analytical communication and stakeholder management skills with the ability to present technical information clearly and effectively.
• Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.

The base salary range for this full-time role is $125000 - $150000 per year. Ranges are determined by role and level and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range is a reflection of base salary only not of a total compensation package. Please note Turner & Townsend reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range depending on candidates experience and qualifications.
