Senior commercial ownership of client relationships in the Earth & Environment sector

About the opportunity
PRI is seeking a Senior Account Manager to own and grow client relationships in our Earth & Environment sector based in Toronto. This is a senior commercial role for an experienced relationship-builder who thrives on winning and growing environmental and earth-sciences work and who is ready to carry significant accounts with real autonomy in the Ontario market.

As Senior Account Manager you will own a portfolio of the sectors important client relationships lead pursuits and grow revenue across your accounts. You will be backed by strong technical practices in environmental assessment natural sciences hydrotechnical geotechnical and related disciplines so you can focus your energy on clients relationships and growth. This is a senior seat on the commercial team a step below the Sector Vice President and a natural path toward it with the opportunity to mentor Account Managers along the way.

PRIs Earth & Environment sector serves developers public agencies and municipalities infrastructure and industrial owners and proponents navigating environmental approvals across Ontario. The work spans environmental assessment and permitting contaminated sites and site remediation environmental compliance and monitoring and the earth-sciences support that development and infrastructure projects rely on within Ontario provincial (MECP) and federal regulatory frameworks.

How this role works at PRI
PRI operates through a matrix of commercial sectors and technical practices. Sector Vice Presidents own the commercial success of each sector and Account Managers own and grow client portfolios within it. As a Senior Account Manager you sit at the senior end of that commercial track: you own significant client relationships and pursuits with real autonomy you help grow the sector and you mentor Account Managers while the technical Practice Leads own the quality and delivery of the work. This lets you focus on clients relationships and growth backed by strong technical teams. The Senior Account Manager is a step below the Sector Vice President and a natural path toward it.

What youll own
Client relationships and portfolio

Own manage and grow a portfolio of significant client relationships in the earth and environment sector including some of the sectors larger and more strategic accounts.
Serve as a senior trusted point of contact for your clients delivering responsive solutions-oriented service that generates repeat work.
Deepen and expand existing relationships growing revenue within your accounts over time.
Develop new client relationships and open new accounts that fit the sectors strategy.

Business development and pursuits
Lead and win pursuits within your portfolio setting win strategy and pricing in coordination with the Sector VP and Proposal team.
Manage pursuits across both private development-driven work and public-sector procurement from proponent and owner relationships to competitive proposals and regulatory-driven engagements.
Identify and qualify new opportunities and contribute to the sectors pipeline and growth targets.
Represent PRI at industry events and with developers public agencies and industrial owners building the firms profile in the earth and environment market.
Maintain commercial and pricing discipline protecting margin across the work you bring in.

Collaboration and mentorship
Work closely with technical Practice Leads and project teams to scope price and deliver work to the firms quality standards.
Partner with the Sector VP on account strategy sector planning and major pursuits.
Mentor and support Account Managers sharing commercial craft and helping develop the next generation of client-facing talent.
Coordinate with peer Account Managers and other sectors on cross-sector opportunities referring and sharing relationships generously.
Support the firms Indigenous partnerships where relevant to your accounts in coordination with the firms Indigenous Partnerships function. Environmental work frequently involves First Nations as proponents partners and consultation parties.

Who were looking for
We are looking for an experienced commercially minded relationship-builder with a track record of winning and growing work in the earth and environment market. You are energized by clients and business development you have the judgment and autonomy of a senior operator and you are ready to mentor others and grow toward sector leadership.

Required
Approximately 8 or more years of experience in business development account management or client-facing delivery with a strong record in the earth and environment market or a closely related field.
Demonstrated success winning and growing work and building client relationships that generate repeat business.
An established network among developers public agencies municipalities or industrial and infrastructure owners in the Ontario environmental market.
Experience leading pursuits and proposals including win strategy and pricing.
Strong commercial acumen including an understanding of margin pricing and the economics of professional-services delivery.
Excellent communication presentation and interpersonal skills with the presence to engage senior client decision-makers.
The autonomy and judgment of a senior commercial operator and a genuine commitment to client service and team success.

Preferred
A relevant professional designation (. . . QP-ESA or equivalent) is an asset but not required.
Experience across several environmental sub-markets such as environmental assessment and permitting contaminated sites and remediation compliance and monitoring or earth-sciences support within the Ontario regulatory context.
Established relationships with developers public agencies and industrial owners in the region.
Experience mentoring or developing junior commercial or client-facing staff.
Experience working collaboratively with First Nations and supporting Indigenous engagement initiatives.
Interest in applying new tools and technologies including AI-enabled approaches to business development.
